Celebrity Gogglebox fans slam the show for 'breaking distancing rules'

‘How is this OK?!’ Celebrity Gogglebox fans call out the show for seemingly ‘breaking social distancing’ rules as the stars watch TV with members of different households

The latest series of Celebrity Gogglebox kicked off on Friday night, with stars including Stacey Solomon, Harry Redknapp and Martin Kemp taking part.

However, viewers were left furious as some of the stars seemingly broke social distancing rules as they mingled with others from different households.

Fans took to social media to share their confusion as the famous faces critiqued the week’s TV with people they don’t live with, with one asking: ‘How is this OK?’

Confused: Celebrity Gogglebox fans were furious as the stars seemingly broke social distancing as they mingled with other households (Ashley Roberts and Jamie Theakston)

The episode saw couples including Stacey and Joe Solomon and Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford taking part, with these couples living together.

But viewers were more concerned for stars who clearly do not live in the same household, such as Ashley Roberts and Jamie Theakston, as well as Bez and Shaun Ryder.

And though all the celebrities were sitting two metres apart as per the rules, fans were annoyed that they were sitting in the homes of their pals, despite the government’s rules saying that this is not allowed.

Rule breaking? And though all the celebrities were sitting two metres apart as per the rules, fans were annoyed that they were sitting in the homes of their pals, despite the government’s rules saying that this is not allowed

Taking to Twitter, fans shared their frustrations as one wrote: ‘I’m sure half these people don’t live together? How are they filming without social distancing rules?’

While another tweeted: ‘So those in Gogglebox are “social distancing”, but those in the same house who CLEARLY don’t live together are still breaking the rules by being in someone else’s house! How is this ok?!’

A third confused watcher questioned: ‘can i go round someones house then as long as im recording something.’

Allowed: The episode saw couples including Stacey and Joe Solomon and Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford taking part, with these couples living together

‘So if you appear on #celebritygogglebox it appears you don’t have to follow the rules on isolation like the rest of us. No way do all of these live in the same house’ ranted a fourth.

‘Is it adhering to social distancing when they’re in each others houses? I don’t get this’ fumed a fifth viewer.

With another adding: ‘You might want to research the rules properly before proclaiming that people are obeying social distancing. People who don’t live together are not allowed in the same house. Being 2 metres apart is not a way of circumventing he rules.’

All good: There were no complaints about Ruth and Eamonn seeing as they are a married couple who live in the same household

However, a Celebrity Gogglebox spokesperson confirmed to MailOnline: ‘All those involved in filming Celebrity Gogglebox are doing so safely following industry production guidelines.’

While show star Gyles Brandreth explained how they adhered to the rules, telling a fan on Twitter: ‘1. It’s work because it’s a TV show: we stay 2 metres apart & there’s no one else in the building.’

It was announced last month that a horde of celebrities will be taking to their sofas for a new all-star version of the popular series.

Not impressed: Fans took to social media to share their confusion as the famous faces critiqued the week’s TV with people they don’t live with, with one asking: ‘How is this ok?’

Love Island’s Laura Whitmore and Iain Stirling were on the line-up as were DJ Zoe Ball and her son Woody.

Other stars also include Nick Grimshaw and his niece Liv, boxer Nicola Adams and her partner Ella Baig, as well as returning couch potatoes Denise van Outen and her partner Eddie Boxshall.

While newbies included Harry Redknapp and his beloved wife Sandra.

Cast: It was announced last month that a horde of celebrities will be taking to their sofas for a new all-star version of the popular series, with Love Island’s Laura Whitmore and Iain Stirling in the line-up

With the UK in lockdown, its thought the stars will occassionally be watching repeated shows, with Denise commenting: ‘It would be nice to see some of the iconic soap episodes. Scott and Charlene’s wedding from Neighbours especially.’

This follows the lacklustre reaction the American version of Celebrity Gogglebox received when it aired on E4 in the UK two weeks ago.

The show managed to wheel out some big household names, such as the Osbourne family, Tyra Banks, Rob Lowe and Meghan Trainor, but the rest of the line-up left viewers wondering who they were, branding their sofa-bound banter ‘painful to watch’.

Familiar faces: Denise van Outen and her partner Eddie Boxshall returned for another stint after starring in the previous series

While Sharon, Ozzy and Kelly Osbourne watched scenes from Indiana Jones, RuPaul’s Drag Race and Dr Pimple Popper from the comfort of their Beverly Hills cinema room, Tyra, Rob and Meghan lounged about with family members who lacked any interesting TV critiquing skills.

The rest of the line-up included names not well known in the UK, such as Joe Buck, JoJo Siwa, Steve Wozniak, Curtis Stone, and Robert and Kym Herjavec.

Tweets soon materialised slamming the hour-long episode, which is the first in a new series and narrated by Craig Cash of regular Gogglebox UK.

Not as good: E4 debuted its American version of Celebrity Gogglebox recently – but viewers were mostly left unmoved by it

Why ‘Growing Up Hip Hop’ Star Angela Simmons Promotes Her Body On Social Media

Angela Simmons has carved out a lane for herself by promoting body positivity. The Growing Up Hip Hop star actively promotes healthy living on her social media and encourages women to say no to plastic surgery and build the body they desire through hard work with exercise. Simmons has been criticized for some of her bikini shots but has no intention of slowing down her posts anytime soon, as she says it’s her way of inspiring women to be their best selves.

Angela Simmons has received criticism for showing off her body on social media, including from her former friend and co-star Romeo Miller

Miller and Simmons were once close friends and even toyed with dating but their friendship fell apart throughout the last season of Growing Up Hip Hop. Miller insists that he has no hard feelings toward Simmons and that they simply grew apart from each other.

But Simmons and her family believe that Miller cut her off after feeling rejected by her not wanting to be in a romantic relationship. She also accused Miller of not being there for her when her ex-fiance and father of her son was killed.

Despite Miller’s stance that he doesn’t have any negative feelings toward Simmons, fans believe that a recent comment about her social media hints to otherwise. An avid fitness junkie, Simmons is known to share videos of her working out and posts photos of her progress online. Many of her photos are of her in little clothing showing to show the full scope of her progress. Miller believes that Simmons has curated her image online for attention.

Angela Simmons says she shows her body off to inspire others

Simmons isn’t letting the naysayers stop her from showing off her naturally built body on her social media channels. She explains in an upcoming episode of Growing Up Hip Hop that she’s worked hard to get the results she has with her body and has always been health conscious.

More importantly, Simmons wants to be an example to other women, especially in a world where women are running to a plastic surgeon instead of a gym. Her sister Vanessa has also been open about her struggles with her body image after gaining weight in the last few years. Simmons wants to show her sister that she can get the body she wants by working hard and not to be discouraged by combatting images online.

Kourtney Kardashian Accused of Using Capitalizing off of Black People to Promote Poosh

Given the current state of the union, celebrities are speaking out more than ever before. Poosh owner, Kourtney Kardashian, and the rest of the KarJenner clan are no exception to this rule. The 41-year-old has pledged to use her wealth, resources, and privilege to help continue the conversations about racism and inequities. But, not everyone is impressed with the way in which the Poosh founder is going about fighting against racism.

On June 4, 2020, the eldest KarJenner sibling took to her Instagram page to share some news with her 93.7 million followers. She announced that her lifestyle website, Poosh, would be making donations to The NAACP as well as The Bail Project. Kardashian also shared that the site was committed to highlighting Black people, products, and stories. Additionally, she committed to continuing the conversation about racial inequities and inequalities long after the social media hype had died down.

Kourtney Kardashian speaks out about what she’s teaching her kids

Kardashian followed that Instagram post up with another photo of herself and her oldest son, Mason Disick. In the caption, she spoke about her duties as a mother. She stated that it was her duty to educate her kids about issues of racism and inequality. She also stated that it was important that they understand their white privilege and the benefits that it affords them. Finally, she urged her followers to visit Poosh to read the rest of her thoughts about how she educates her children.

As the founder of @poosh, I think it’s important to make a pledge that lasts beyond today. We pledge to continue the conversation when racism and inequity cease to be a trending topic. We pledge to do the work required, not just in this moment but in the future, to keep ourselves educated, to keep the doors open for safe and honest dialogue, even if it’s uncomfortable. And we pledge to share this information with you, our community. We are committed to highlighting black and minority owned businesses, their products, and their stories, as well as making a conscious effort to ensure our team of collaborators and our content and imagery always reflect the diversity of our community. Poosh will also be making donations to the NAACP and the The Bail Project, two organizations that are committed to creating a more equal and just society for Black men, women, and children. God bless us and God help us.

People had mixed reactions to Kardashian’s latest post. Some people commended her for using her platform to speak about important issues. They showed their thanks and appreciation for the mom of three. However, other people weren’t as impressed. Many critics felt that Kardashian was exploiting the plight of Black people in order to promote her business. They argued that the post seemed authentic until she urged people to visit Poosh’s website.

Critics are upset that the ‘KUWTK’ star is promoting Poosh

“It was good until she mentioned Poosh,😫” one person wrote on Instagram. “Exactly! She typed all that just to bring traffic to her website. They capitalize off of Black people any way they can,” another person agreed, citing Kardashian’s sisters. “Exactly. They make me sick & I often wonder how ppl can’t see past the bullsh*t. It’s sickening, honestly, no human decency,” yet another person added.

As a mother, there is a natural instinct to protect my children from anything that might make them feel sad or unsafe. The pain and suffering inflicted by racism is not a thing of the past and I bare the responsibility to speak with my kids honestly and often about it, even when the truth is uncomfortable. I have to make sure they understand what it means to have white privilege and to take the time to learn and discuss Black History, beyond just one short month out of the year. I encourage other mothers to join me in using this as a learning lesson for our children, to allow our children to feel comfortable enough to come talk to us about anything. Allow conversation without judgement, and learn from our children too. We don’t know it all. My children sometimes ask questions that I may not know the answers to, so we explore them together. I’ve felt like I’ve always been on the right side of this, but I have a lot to learn and want to educate myself even more, so that I can be a better mother, a better auntie to my nieces and nephews, a better friend, and a better person. For the rest of my note on Things I Teach My Children, go to poosh.com 🙏🏼

“Black lives matter, but let me promote my website one quick second,” yet another Instagram user wrote about the Poosh owner. “She just capitalized on the deaths of three Black people to push her business. 🙄 I swear that family is the worst,” someone else chimed in. “This is an Ad! Girl goodnight. Let Kim be the revolutionary one,” another person added, referencing Kardashian’s younger sister, Kim Kardashian West.

Fans support Kardashian for her recent Instagram posts

Though Kardashian received no small amount of criticism for the post, there were several people who jumped to her defense. They argued that using her company, Poosh, to speak on important issues was a way that she was using her privilege and platform for good.

“She’s doing the right thing by giving them resources to educate themselves if they don’t know where to go. For moms who agree and follow her content.. she has millions of fans that feel the same way and honestly don’t know a single black person to talk too like she does, 🤷🏽‍♀️” one person chimed in. Clearly, people are split about Kardashian using Poosh as a means to speak about important issues. Only time will tell if the reality tv star stays true to her word and continues the conversation long after it stops trending.

Old Dominion’s Matthew Ramsey Shares Hopeful Message Following Recent Unrest

As protests rage across the United States over the death of George Floyd in police custody, Old Dominion frontman Matthew Ramsey sent a message of hope to his countrymen.

In a post on Instagram, Ramsey compared the civil unrest in the wake of Floyd’s death to the tornadoes that ripped through Nashville in early March.

“There is no basement we can crawl into to protect ourselves from this storm. We can only listen to it and learn from it as it tears a path through our lives,” Ramsey wrote.

“I have faith that kindness can bloom again. I’ve seen it happen,” he continued. “I know we as people can find love and compassion for our neighbors who have been hurt. In these painful times, please focus your hearts on healing, compassion, communication, humanity, humility and love. Hate has had its day. It’s on us to work together now to clean it up.”

Katy Perry's Repossession Saga of the Early 2000s

Katy Perry might be one of the world’s most well-known pop stars, but her image is far from squeaky clean. From feuding with Taylor Swift to accusations of sexual harassment, it’s been a rocky road for the singer. Still, many fans were shocked to learn that she’s faced financial woes over the years.

In spite of her troubles, Perry has always been in the limelight, and seems to land on her feet. Perry landed a major role as a judge on American Idol, she’s about to marry Orlando Bloom, and she’s got a baby on the way. Yet according to Hot Cars, she had one of her beloved cars repoed not once, but twice.

Who is Katy Perry and what is her net worth?

RELATED: Katy Perry’s Most Popular Song Is Not What You Think

Katy Perry, formerly known as Kathryn Elizabeth Hudson, is a pop singer, American Idol judge, and fashion designer. According to Celebrity Net Worth, the singer is worth $330 Million dollars. Most of her income comes from her music career, but her role on American Idol has certainly boosted her income.

Perry currently makes $25 million as a judge on American Idol, which is far more than her fellow judges make. Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie, who are also judges, only make $7 Million. It’s not clear why Perry makes so much more than her male counterparts, but they don’t seem to care either way.

Perry is now engaged to Orlando Bloom. The exact date is up in the air due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19), but one date is not up for debate. Their baby is rumored to be due sometime in August, but the couple is keeping the exact date to themselves.

What happened in 2006?

Katy Perry has made no secret of the fact that she came from humble beginnings. Born into a Christian home, she released an album under her birth name, which flopped. She scored a second break by landing a record deal with Island Records, but this also fell through.

The Motley Fool reports that Perry later scored a contract with Columbia Records in 2004. She worked hard on her album, but Columbia Records dropped her before it could be released. According to Fandom, Katy Perry wanted to be in the driver’s seat while producing the album, and Columbia Record had other ideas.

Rather than seeing this as a sign that she didn’t have what it takes, Perry continued to put herself out there in hopes that someone would take her seriously. She was featured briefly in P.O.D’s music video “Goodbye For Now,” as well as Carbon Leaf’s video “Learn to Fly.”

Perry gained even more attention when she played the love interest of Gym Class Heroes’ lead singer Travis McCoy in the video “Cupid’s Chokehold.” This got the attention of Jason Flom, the head of Capitol Records. This led to her second album One of the Boys, and opened the door for the success she enjoys today.

Why was Katy Perry’s car repossessed?

One of my favorite moments on this leg was being able to FINALLY visit @LunaParkSydney and bring my tour 🤡 I have looked out the window of my various hotel rooms for over 10 years dreaming about this place, the rainbow of glittering color in the middle of mundane grey business buildings… it looked like it was frozen in time, a simpler time. I love that it feels like you’re taking a time machine back to an authentic, incredibly preserved, corporate free, fun factory! I heard they are trying to destroy it and so I just wanna post that this smiling face has kept me smiling from across the water for over a decade… please don’t take my smile away! 😔 #savelunapark #historicalnostalgia USE HASTAG #SAVELUNAPARK to save!!! ❤️📸 @timsek

It’s all too clear that 2006 was a rough year for Katy Perry. It was filled with ups and downs that were probably more than a little stressful. It was also hard on her wallet.

Forbes reports that Perry wasn’t even able to pay her own rent, and her manager stepped up to take care of her. In fact, she ended up owing him $20,000 according to Hollywood Reporter. Her financial problems continued to escalate over 2006, and that’s probably why her beloved VW Jetta was repossessed not once, but twice. Volkswagens aren’t known for being overpriced, but they still cost money.

That being said, it may not have been that big of a loss, since the 2006 VW Jetta has the most complaints of any model year. In fact, over 105 people have complained about it on Car Complaints.

One of the biggest problems in the transmission, which can cost owners almost $4,000 to fix. Given that Perry had enough money problems at the time, getting the Jetta back may not have been worth it.

That’s no longer a problem, however. Now that her career has taken off, Perry can buy any vehicle she wants and not have to worry about it being repossessed.

Cardi B, Karlie Kloss & More Stars Demand Justice For Breonna Taylor On What Would’ve Been Her 27th Birthday

Celebrities are honoring Breonna Taylor on would have been her 27th birthday. The young medical worker was killed by police in Louisville, Kentucky on March 13.

Celebrities are speaking out on what would have been Breonna Taylor‘s 27th birthday, and demanding justice for the medical worker who was killed by police. The then 26-year-old was tragically shot by Louisville cops in her own apartment on March 13. The African-American woman was sleeping in her bed with her boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, 27, when officers forcefully entered her apartment after obtaining a “no-knock” search warrant during an investigation into two men they believed were selling drugs out of a house far from Breonna’s home. The tragic shooting has gained national attention in the wake of the Black Lives Matter movement, and celebrities are demanding justice for Breonna.

Rapper Cardi B took to Instagram to wish the EMT a happy birthday. “The fight ain’t over till you get justice,” she captioned a photo of the young woman. Although the horrifying incident that took Breonna’s life happened almost three months ago, the FBI only opened an investigation this week. It comes amid the headline-making death of African-American man George Floyd, who died after Derek Chauvin, a Minneapolis police officer, pinned him to the ground for almost nine minutes despite repeatedly telling him that he couldn’t breathe, during an arrest on May 25. Both of their deaths have prompted outcry as thousands of protesters, including celebrities, have taken to the streets in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. Here are some of the celebs demanding justice for Breonna.

The “Bodak Yellow” hitmaker threw her support behind the movement pledging justice for Breonna, posting a pic of the young EMT in a black dress. “Happy Birthday #BreonnaTaylor .She looks so pretty and fine in this pic. Her story it’s so sad and unfair and it almost didn’t get picked up by the media,” she began. “Kentuky police department really tried to sweep her case under the rug, but got is BIG. ‘The Voice’ Alum Jordan Pruitt Calls Lea Michele a ‘Horrible Human Being’

Open secret? Jordan Pruitt claimed that the Lea Michele controversy is common knowledge to people in the entertainment industry amid mistreatment allegations against the Glee alum.

“Everyone in Hollywood KNOWS that Lea Michele is a horrible human being …. she is a Bitch to everyone. We all know it … yawn. Moving on …” the Voice alum, 29, tweeted on Thursday, June 4.

Pruitt added that there is “much more tea where that came from … ” to which a fan encouraged her to speak out and “put people in their place.”

“Well, I lived in LA and worked there for a LONG time,’ she replied. “I’ve seen ALOT. Comes with the territory. I’m just saying; the only thing shocking is that people are just now calling her out … bout time.”

Michele, 33, first came under fire on Monday, June 1, after her Glee costar Samantha Marie Ware slammed the “Cannonball” singer’s tweet in support of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Glee star Heather Morris followed suit, sharing her experience.  She called her former costar “unpleasant to work with.”

Michele issued a statement apologizing for her behavior via Instagram on Wednesday, June 3.

“The responses I received to what I posted have made me also focus specifically on how my own behavior towards fellow cast members was perceived by them,” she wrote. “While I don’t remember ever making this specific statement and I have never judged others by their background or color of their skin, that’s not really the point. What matters is that I clearly acted in ways which hurt other people.”

One day later, a source told Us Weekly that although Michele “was completely self-obsessed toward everyone,” she “did not discriminate” against people based on their race.

Dean Geyer — who portrayed Rachel Berry’s love interest Brody Weston on season 4 of Glee — defended his former costar on Thursday.

“Lea is still one of my favorite costars that I have had the pleasure of working with,” Geyer, 34, told the Daily Mail. “She is extremely hard working and super fun to be around.”

Although Pruitt criticized Michele’s workplace behavior, the pair are on similar pages in their personal lives. The Georgia native announced in April that she and her husband, Brian Fuente, are expecting their first child together. Michele, for her part, is also pregnant with her first child with her husband, Zandy Reich.

Travis Scott Is "Hopeful" He and Kylie Jenner Are Going to Get Back Together

Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott might be on their way to getting back together after breaking up last fall. A source tells Us Weekly that Travis “is still hopeful that there’s a chance that they’ll reconcile,” and apparently “they stay in touch and hang out.” That said, the former couple “aren’t back together” just yet.

Travis and Kylie broke up in October 2019 and at the time a source said “everyone around them thinks they will get back together.” Then in February, another source (literally, so many sources) said that “everyone around Kylie and Travis is rallying for these two,” and “they are coparenting and hanging out more and more, working on getting back together.”

Kate Garraway, 53, made a brave return to Good Morning Britain this morning to open up about her family’s struggles as her husband Derek Draper battles coronavirus in hospital.

The presenter was tearful as she told her co-stars Ben Shephard and Ranvir Singh that the damage done by the virus could mean that Derek never recovers from it.

Kate’s GMB co-star Susanna Reid, 49, addressed her emotional interview on the ITV programme and praised her for being a “tower of strength” for her children Darcey and William.

In view of her 752,000 Twitter followers, the journalist wrote: “Oh @kategarraway you are such a tower of strength for Derek and the children.

“So much love for you all. Everyone watching is with you, hoping for that miracle,” alongside a red heart emoji.

Fans took to the comments section of Susanna’s post to share their messages for Kate.

One person wrote: “That really was an extraordinary interview so brave.”

Another added: “Everyone who is flouting the rules needs to watch this and see the pain and anguish that Kate and her family are going through. My thoughts and prayers are with Derek and keep fighting.”

A third person commented: “Been in tears since the start of the interview xx.”

Speaking from her home in north London, Kate told GMB viewers this morning: “He’s still with us and has fought the most extraordinary battle.

“The fact that he is still here, I am so grateful.

“He is very, very sick and as time goes on, it’s a virus and as doctors manage one but extraordinarily well and there seems to be a flicker of hope.”
