Linda Lusardi says it’s ‘good to be home’ after almost dying from coronavirus

Linda Lusardi has returned home after recovering from coronavirus, as she opened up about her horrific ordeal.

The Dancing On Ice star had come down with Covid-19 around two weeks ago, and ended up in hospital fighting the effects of the deadly illness.

She shared a photo of her in her own bed at home telling fans: ‘So good to be home. Keep safe. Stay in and try to keep positive in this troubled time.’

Despite going to hell and back and being told she may not survive, Linda looked very glamorous as she snuggled up with her dog, and the smile on her face showed just how glad she was to be out of hospital.

She revealed to The Sun that she had been told she may not live through coronavirus, explaining: ‘‘I said to [the doctor], “Am I going to make this?” and he said, “You’re 61, I can’t guarantee anything. We don’t know what we’re dealing with here”.

‘To hear that was just dreadful and I just burst into tears.’

Linda also revealed the horrific effects of the virus on her body:  ‘I started to get a fever, [I was] feeling rough and carried on, but it got worse and worse.

‘Your head hurts, your brain hurts and you feel like an elephant is sitting on you.’

What does self-isolation mean?

Self-isolation means staying indoors and avoiding all contact with other people for 14 days, according to the NHS.

It means no going to work, school, the shops or even to the park for some fresh air, in order to minimise the risk of passing on Covid-19.

Public transport and taxis are a no-no and you shouldn’t have visitors over, even if you just stay at home.

Anyone in self-isolation is advised to ask friends, family and delivery drivers to pick things up for you and drop them-off. You should put a sign outside telling people you are self-isolating and everything should be left on the floor outside your front door to avoid the risk of further infections.

You should leave a sign outside your property if you have to self-isolate (Picture: PA)

Those who are self-isolating are still advised to stay away from their pets as much as possible and to wash their hands before and after touching them.

If you live in a house share and have to self-isolate, the advice is to stay in your room with the door closed and only emerge to use communal kitchens, bathrooms and living areas if absolutely necessary.

Who should self-isolate?

The government advises anyone returning from Category 1 areas (Hubei, Iran, Italy and Daegu or Cheongdo in South Korea), to go straight home and self-isolate, even if they don’t display any symptoms.

Travellers should use the 111 online coronavirus service to find out what to do next.

Anyone returning from Category 2 areas should self-isolate and call 111 if they have Covid-19 symptoms. You can find the list of those places here.

Linda continued: ‘I remember crawling to the bathroom, putting my face on the tile floor and then almost trying to make myself sick to just get a light relief for five minutes afterwards.

‘I was leaning over the edge of the bed, coughing and spitting into a bucket. Your vomit is blue.’

Her husband Sam Kane also contracted coronavirus, but his symptoms were much milder and he was soon discharged from hospital, while Linda’s life hung in the balance.

Thankfully, she managed to pull through and thanked the NHS on Instagram, writing: ‘The NHS really did save my life. Such brave, incredible, doctors and nurses. And all the staff. Thank you.’

Summer Walker in Hot Water for Defending Cultural Appropriation

‘I don’t see why a white girl cant wear box braids if she chooses to express herself that way,’ so the ‘Girls Need Love’ singer says before being hit with backlash.

AceShowbiz -Even though Summer Walker often says controversial things that land her in hot water, it appears she still stays true to herself despite the backlash. This time, the R&B singer drew criticism after a comment she made regarding cultural appropriation.

It all started after she posted on Instagram a video of Nikita Dragun that prompted one of her followers to urge her not to support the social media star because she’s appropriating black culture. In response, Summer wrote, “idk about the whole cultural appropriation thing with as many black women running around in blonde straight wigs, blue contacts, and make up they know damn well is 2 shades lighter their actual skin tone. I think a lot of people just like the idea of being what there not no matter what race.”

Her response led some people to attack her, though she still stood by her remark. “I don’t see why a white girl cant wear box braids if she chooses to express herself that way. We clearly as humans admire different things from different cultures,” She added in another comment, “The only issue is the black girl in the blonde wig should get the same acceptance and praise as the white girl in the box braids.”

This only prompted people to attack her even more, with one saying, “you continue to be ignorant everyday like you really outdo yourself with this ignorant s**t.” Meanwhile, another person similarly wrote, “the ignorance jumped out, a whole colorist who doesn’t even support her own race whew chile.” Someone else urged her to “just make music…. and just hush.”

“Please delete this summer. Having blue eyes and blonde hair are not cultural things, but rather genetics. Please delete this for your own good,” an individual advised her nicely. “summer are you SERIOUS RN? that’s the dumbest s**t to EVER come out of your mouth..,” another commented.

Search for Missing RFK’s Granddaughter and Son Suspended as They’re Presumed Dead

In a lengthy statement, Maeve Kennedy Townsend McKean’s husband David is convinced that the chances the mother and son have survived are ‘impossibly small.’

AceShowbiz -The search for Maeve Kennedy Townsend McKean and her 8-year-old son, Gideon, has been suspended and turned from rescue to recovery. Her husband, David McKean, confirmed the sad news in a statement, presuming that his two beloved family members have passed away after a canoe accident.

In his lengthy statement, David revealed that the Coast Guard and local authorities had been putting in all their efforts to find Maeve and Gideon more than a day to no avail. Thus, he’s now convinced that the “the chances they have survived are impossibly small. It is clear that Maeve and Gideon have passed away.” David added, “The search for their recovery will continue, and I hope that that will be successful.”

Maeve and Gideon were reported missing after trying to retrieve a ball that got kicked into Chesapeake Bay. According to reports, they were seen struggling to return to shore in a canoe before disappearing.

David gave more details about the accident in his statement, saying that the mother-and-son duo was playing kickball by the small, shallow cove behind the house before one of them kicked the ball into the water. “The cove is protected, with much calmer wind and water than in the greater Chesapeake. They got into a canoe, intending simply to retrieve the ball, and somehow got pushed by wind or tide into the open bay,” he explained.

“About 30 minutes later they were spotted by an onlooker from land, who saw them far out from shore, and called the police,” he continued. “After that last sighting, they were not seen again. The Coast Guard recovered their canoe, which was capsized and miles away, at approximately 6:30 yesterday evening.”

As for how the couple’s other children reacted to this heartbreaking news, David revealed that their seven-year-old daughter is understandably “heartbroken,” but she tried to be mature. Meanwhile, “Toby is two-and-a-half, so he’s still his usual magical and goofy self. I know soon he will start to ask for Maeve and Gideon. It breaks my heart that he will not get to have them as a mother and brother.”

The Kennedy-Townsend family has also issued their own statement thanking people for the “outpouring of love and prayers.” Of Maeve, they said, “Her husband, David, and their children, Gideon, Gabriella, and Toby, were the great joys of her life. The role she treasured most was mom.”

A host of Kate Garraway’s Good Morning Britain colleagues and friends sent their love to the presenter (GMB team pictured at National Television Awards last year)

He shared: ‘Just wanted to send all my love to Darcey and Billy. Sending Derek strength and positivity. Love to everyone going through this right now.’

Derek, who was a former adviser to Tony Blair, was rushed to hospital on Monday where he was tested positive for coronavirus.

Kate met Prince Charles at an event on March 11, but began displaying symptoms on Monday, which is beyond the two-week incubation period.

It comes as the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the UK topped 38,000 on Friday, with 3,605 deaths.

Concerns: Just days ago, the presenter voiced her fears on GMB meeting with Prince Charles before he tested positive for coronavirus (pictured at the Prince’s Trust Awards on March 11)

Kate’s meeting with Prince Charles

Fears that Kate could have contracted coronavirus from Prince Charles have been ruled out.

The ITV presenter met Prince Charles at an event on March 11, but began displaying symptoms on Monday, which is beyond the two-week incubation period.

The ‘incubation period’ means the time between catching the virus and beginning to have symptoms of the disease.

Most estimates of the incubation period for COVID-19 range from 1-14 days, most commonly around five days.

The GMB presenter, who hasn’t been tested but is displaying ‘mild symptoms’ is self-isolating at home with their two children – Darcey, 14, and William (Bill), ten.

Just days ago, the presenter voiced her fears on Good Morning Britain after meeting with Prince Charles before he tested positive for coronavirus.

She spoke about their encounter live on air, revealing that the pair had got ‘relatively close’ at the Prince’s Trust Awards on March 11.

Kate’s spokesperson told MailOnline: ‘Kate’s husband, Derek Draper, has been taken to hospital and is being treated in intensive care with a confirmed case of COVID-19.

He was admitted on Monday and has since tested positive for the virus.

‘Kate, hasn’t been tested, however she has also been displaying mild symptoms, also since Monday, and as a result has been on strict isolation with her children at home.’

A source added to The Sun: ‘This is a desperate situation for Kate who is sick with worry about Derek’s health.

‘She is obviously off TV too. Everyone at GMB is so worried for her.’

Kate shared a video of herself clapping for the NHS on Thursday night where she said her family had an ‘extra special reason’ to clap for our carers.

She wrote: ‘We had a an extra special reason to #clapthecarers in our house tonight but there’s a special reason for us all isn’t there.

‘Thank thank you to all the health workers caring for our loved ones and key workers keeping our lives going [clapping emojis] you are incredible.’

Kate’s GMB co-star Susanna Reid, who just ended her own quarantine after someone in her household displayed COVID-19 symptoms, commented with a heart emoji.

‘I don’t have any symptoms, so I’m not blaming him for anything at all, but people are going to be concerned. He’s a man that meets a lot of people.’

Just a day later, Kate assured fans that she was in ‘perfect’ health and had been to hospital to have her eye checked over, following reports conjunctivitis is listed as a symptom of COVID-19.

The Prince of Wales has a ‘mild’ form of the illness and his doctor believes that the royal may have been contagious from March 13 at the earliest.

Family: Former Blair adviser M, 52, pictured with their two children Darcey, 14, and William (Bill), ten, in November

Shortly after Kate met Prince Charles on March 11, GMB played footage of the two together.

The presenter pointed out: ‘We’re relatively close there, as indeed were all the other people that were involved in that.

Kate and Derek have been married for fourteen years, with the former lobbyist cheering his wife on for the duration of her stint on I’m A Celebrity last year, he flew out to Australia with their two children to meet her.

The couple, who wed in September 2005, have previously discussed their union, with Derek admitting that he feared she was ‘a high-maintenance TV bimbo’.

Kate, who was married to Ian Rumsey from 1998 to 2002, met Derek when they were set up by mutual friend, then-political editor of GMTV Gloria De Piero.

The I’m A Celeb star told The Times: ‘One day, as the sun was rising, she said, ‘I’m having an epiphany. You and Derek Draper.’ I was, like, ‘Who?’

‘Derek had just moved back from America, having left politics and retrained as a psychotherapist, and she thought we’d be perfect for each other…

‘She set up drinks with a group of people at Claridge’s. Derek arrived thinking it was a date and that I was being incredibly cool by ignoring him.’

Derek then admitted he was relieved he went on the date as Kate dispelled all the myths he believed of dating a TV personality.

Kate’s GMB co-star Piers Morgan has previously spoke about Derek as they used to butt heads when he was a press chief for Labour and Piers was editor of the Daily Mirror.

Frank Ocean Just Dropped TWO New Songs, And They Have Got Folks CRYING!

Many stars are doing their part to try to keep us smiling during the coronavirus pandemic, but Frank Ocean is taking a different approach!

On Friday, the 32-year-old phenom dropped two new tracks, and we can almost guarantee they’ll have you in your feels.

Fans of the Thinkin Bout You crooner may recall that he first previewed the songs last October during his first ever PrEP+ club night in New York City. The tracks, which appear on special vinyl releases for fans, are moody acoustic tracks and fit perfectly with the general mood of the world right now. Cayendo is an emotional ballad, sung partially in Spanish, while Dear April is all inglés — but equally as gut-hitting and emotional.

We may not have concerts right now, but at least we have Twitter; folks on social media are really sounding off with their feelings if you want the full communal experience! Here’s a look at what some critics and fans have to say so far:

“big plans for tonight, gonna be crying uncontrollably to frank ocean”

“when frank ocean said “i care for you still and i will forever. that was my part of the deal” i really felt that”

“Quarantine got Frank Ocean releasing s**t??? Rihanna you have no excuse now”

“When Frank Ocean releases new music and you know you’re gonna be put in your feelings all over again”

“Frank Ocean gave us Dear April when we needed it the most……”

“frank ocean released new music, don’t talk to me”

“frank ocean learned spanish just to make me cry in two languages”

Frank dropped several new singles late last year, including In My Room and DHL, though it’s unclear whether or not any of the recently released tracks will appear on his highly-anticipated third album.

While speaking with Rolling Stone last year, Ocean spoke about the upcoming album, for which he was drawing influence from “Detroit, Chicago, techno, house, French electronic.” He said at the time fans can expect a “full motion picture fantasy.” He explained:

“The expectation for artists to be vulnerable and truthful is a lot, you know. When it’s no longer a choice. Like, in order for me to satisfy expectations, there needs to be an outpouring of my heart or my experiences in a very truthful, vulnerable way. I’m more interested in lies than that.”

Give Dear April a listen (below):

And once you’ve finished drying your tears, listen to Cayendo:

Have U listened yet, Perezcious readers?? Let us know (below) in the comments what you think!!

Joe Exotic Speaks From Prison: I Never Want to Hear the Name Carole Baskin Again!

At this point in the self-isolation process, if you’re still not familiar with Joe Exotic, we’re almost impressed.

But now that you’ve basked in our praise, go and binge all seven episodes of Tiger King, because holy lord, you have no idea what you’ve been missing out on.

The Netflix documentary series is one of very few recent pop culture phenomena that genuinely lives up to its considerable hype.

In the weeks since the bonkers saga of big cats, murderous hillbillies, and a whole lot of red state swingers made its debut, each of the major players has spoken out to elaborate on their storyline or complain about their portrayal — except for one.

Joe Exotic is currently in prison serving a 22-year sentence on murder for hire and animal abuse charges.

As is that weren’t bad enough Exotic is currently in isolation after being diagnosed with Covid-19.

Those circumstances might have silenced a lesser man — or at least one who’s less fond of the spotlight — but not Joe Exotic.

On Friday, Netflix tweeted a short video (below) of Mr. Exotic participating in a phone interview from prison.

The conversation took place on March 22, but for some reason the streaming service sat on the footage until today.

Perhaps they decided to wait for the Tiger King buzz to build — but like the coronavirus, Joe Exotic fever probably hasn’t peaked yet.

The unseen interviewer began by asking Joe what he thinks of his newfound fame.

“You know it would be nice if I could actually see me being famous out there, but I’ve seen these same four walls for a year and a half now,” he replied.

In a rare moment of self-reflection, Joe says the experience of being imprisoned has led him to feel remorse over the number of animals he kept in cages over the years.

“Go it in a cage with your animals for a week,” he said.

“I mean, when I left the zoo and I sent my chimpanzees to the sanctuary in Florida and imagined what my chimpanzees went through for 18 years, I—I’m ashamed of myself,” Joe added.

Exotic went on to say that despite the fact that they’ve been separated for the past 18 months, his relationship with Dillon Passage is still going strong.

“I can’t thank my husband enough for standing beside me,” he said.

And of course, no conversation with Joe Exotic would be complete without asking the 57-year-old how he feels about his longtime rival Carole Baskin.

Does Joe still think Carole murdered her husband and fed him to her tigers?

Does he still blame her for his imprisonment?

Is he determined to seek revenge?

Well, prepare yourself for what may be the final major twist of the Joe Exotic story — it turns out the man is prepared to move on from his long-standing beef with Baskin.

“I’m done with the Carole Baskin saga,” Joe told the interviewer.

“It’s now time to turn the tables and Joe get out of jail a free man and exonerated from all these charges.”

Of course, if he does get released Joe will be entering a world that’s very different from the one he left behind when he got locked up back in 2018.

One major difference, of course, is that Joe is now a celebrity — and not surprisingly, he has some very big ideas about where his career should go from here.

Tiger King filmmaker Rebecca Chaiklin recently revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that she’s had conversations with Joe about which actor should play him in a movie about his life.

“He would like Brad Pitt or David Spade to play him,” Chaiklin said, adding:

“He doesn’t refer to David Spade as David Spade — he refers to him as Joe Dirt.”

Well, we guess Mr. Exotic is nothing if not self-aware.
