The ‘Voice’ host praises his ‘superhero’ wife after welcoming their fourth child, saying, ‘I wake up enamored by her and also the medical staff we dealt with last night.’
AceShowbiz –Carson Daly got candid about birth process in the midst of coronavirus crisis. One day after welcoming his fourth child, the “Today” co-host revealed that his wife of five years, Siri, has to go through most of her time during labor alone because of new hospital regulations that were made as safety precaution amid the pandemic.
The 46-year-old TV personality spilled the details when he joined a videoconferencing with his NBC co-hosts on Friday, March 27. “I dropped (Siri) off at the hospital, because the hospitals in and around New York, as you can imagine, have new guidelines,” he recalled. “She went alone on Wednesday night. I could only join her for the birth, and then I had to leave again as they are quickly trying to flip these rooms around.”
Gushing over Siri’s “heroism,” Carson dubbed his wife “a superstar” and “a superhero.” He further praised her for her strength. “I mean, watching Siri over the last 48 hours – not to mention during this pregnancy – but being nine months pregnant at this time, you can imagine the extra anxiety that that’s brought,” he shared.
The host of “The Voice” went on to voice his respect for “the medical staff we dealt with” during the birth of baby Goldie. He explained, “The work that they are doing on the front lines, you don’t believe it until you are actually there and can see it.”
When talking about his newborn daughter, Carson spilled the origin of the baby’s name, Goldie Patricia Daly. “Her middle name is Patricia, named after my mother, who you all knew well,” he divulged the information. “It would have been my mom’s birthday tomorrow, so that worked out to be quite nice.”
Noting that he and Siri “had a shortlist of names that we liked but nothing was sitting its neck out,” Carson continued, “I thought about it and I said, ‘You know, this is our fourth kid. She seems like a pot of gold at the end of our family rainbow.’ I told Siri, ‘What do you think about Goldie Patricia?’ And that was it. It was just one of those things, we knew.”
Goldie was born on Thursday, March 26. Grateful of her arrival amid the pandemic, Carson said it was “a bittersweet event for us as we are extremely grateful, but also mindful of this unparalleled time in our history.” He was also thankful of “the incredibly brave & selfless medical staff ” for “their tireless work attending to so many in need.”
