Dave Grohl Reveals Gift From Axl Rose For Borrowing Throne

Dave Grohl spoke with Classic Rock magazine to reveal the gift that he received for having loaned his light-up throne to Guns ‘N Roses vocalist Axl Rose.

The throne was first put to use in 2015 after Grohl suffered a leg injury during his tour of Sweden. It was later borrowed by Rose owing to the fact that he broke his foot during the “Not in This Lifetime Show” at the Troubadour in Los Angeles.

“Axl took it out with Guns N’ Roses, then he took it out with AC/DC, and then all of a sudden I became the guy you come to if you break a limb on tour, like Thrones R Us,” Grohl recalled.

He also added that in return for his generosity, Rose “had Slash go pick me … an early-’60s Gibson ES 335 Dot, which to this day is the nicest f-ing guitar I have ever played in my life.”

“It was an incredibly kind and classy gesture, and I was very appreciative,” he concluded.
