Holly Willoughby, 40, took to her official Instagram on Friday morning, telling fans how her nail had fallen off, prompting her makeup artist Patsy O’Neill to glue it back on ahead of her final show until Christmas.

But in a hilarious turn of events, the glue used by the cosmetics guru appeared to have spilt onto her index finger, subsequently leaving her stuck to Holly.

“So, my nail fell off and Patsy decided to glue it back on,” the TV presenter said.

“They’re my own nails, I’m having them done. We are now attached to each other.

“Right, come on, let’s try and detach,” she continued as Patsy slowly placed a cotton swab between her finger and Holly’s nail in an attempt to be separated from her client.

The mother of two and her co-host Phillip Schofield fronted This Morning one last time as the pair take an early holiday before their return for a Christmas special later this month.

Holly and Phillip, who usually don’t tape on a Friday, made a rare appearance as puzzled viewers were quick to ask about Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond, whose time slot had been replaced by the NTA winners.

The Reflections author donned a high-neck red mini dress that she paired with a matching scarlet lipstick, while one side of her sleek blonde locks was perfectly tucked behind her ear.

She added a pair of black leggings to her ensemble and black heels.

Holly later shared a photo of her entire outfit in an Instagram post to her 7.5 million followers.

“It’s CHRIIIIIISTMAAAAAS! Final day on @thismorning until Christmas Day… open the fizz! #hwstyle dress by @masterpeace.masterpeace #12daysofsparkle.”

The IG photo has amassed over 40,000 likes, with many gushing over how “stunning” Holly looked in her festive attire.

“Morning Holly absolutely stunning beautiful. Was curious though where Dermot and Alison were,” @comeon89 wrote in the comment section.

@munchkinandbear added: “Love this dress!! Can’t wait to watch when I get home and excited for the Christmas Day episode.”

@ben.sallis.9 echoed similar words, writing: “Happy Christmas holly and phil it will be good to see you on Christmas Day and it so lovely seeing you both on a Friday.”

In November, ITV announced that Good Morning Britain, Lorraine and This Morning would be broadcasting on Christmas Day this year.

The line-up was revealed by presenter Vick Hope, who further mentioned that Ainsley Harriott and James Martin are also on board to provide specials throughout the morning.

Ben Shephard, Kate Garraway and Susanna Reid will start things off with GMB at 7am.

It’s believed that a string of special guests will join the trio before Lorraine Kelly takes over for a Christmas edition of her programme, which will then be followed by This Morning.

Leona Lewis is set to perform her latest single, Kiss Me It’s Christmas, lifted from her new album Christmas, with Love Always, while Gino D’Acampo will be cooking up a festive feast in the kitchen.

James will tape his segment from the comfort of his house as he prepares a handful of festive dishes while providing entertainment for his celebrity guests.

Later at 1pm, Ainsley Harriott will take over the cooking duties as he welcomed his famous friends into his kitchen in an episode of Ainsley’s Christmas Good Mood Food.
