Joan Jett, Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong, and many others paid tribute to punk stylist Jimmy Webb, who passed away Tuesday at age 62.
Webb was popular for his work as a manager/buyer at the punk shop Trash & Vaudeville and as the owner of the rock clothing shop I Need More.
Several celebrities took to social media to pay tribute to their favorite stylist, including Blondie‘s Debbie Harry and Chris Stein, Guns N’ Roses‘ Slash and Duff McKagan, E Street Band members Max Weinberg and Steven Van Zandt, Alice Cooper, and Sebastian Bach.
“St. Marks St. legend, stylist of the punks, famous and not, has passed. I’m so very sad and we’ll all miss your energetic, warm soul. The city will not be the same without you,” Jett wrote.
Armstrong said, “This is a heart breaker. Jimmy you are a treasure of New York. Always a positive energy.”
“Jimmy Webb was a great friend of mine. I bought every pair of Cuban heeled boots that I wore from 1987 – 2011 at Trash & Vaudeville from Jimmy. Rest in peace brother we will miss you. You came from the time of true rock and roll,” Bach tweeted.
