Love Island stars enjoy final night out before London is plunged into lockdown

Love Island stars including Georgia Steel and Maura Higgins enjoyed a final night out in lockdown for Joanna Chimonides’ 24th birthday.

The stars could be seen leaving MNKY HSE in Mayfair after enjoying some drinks, the night before the tier 2 restrictions were put into place.

Georgia, 22, rocked a skirt and jacket combo as she walked along with Maura, 29, who looked stunning in a little black dress.

Elsewhere, twins Jess and Eve Gale, 20, and fellow former islander Francesca Allen, 24, posed outside the restaurant and bar.

They seemed to have a blast as they shared snaps and videos from the night, with Maura toasting with the birthday girl, and the twins posing up a storm.

The former islanders squeezed in the outing the night before restrictions came into force on October 17, with London being moved up to the tier 2 ‘high risk’ category.

It means that Londoners aren’t able to mix with people from other households inside but can still meet in groups of up to six outside.

Meanwhile, the coronavirus pandemic has meant the next series of Love Island is surrounded by uncertainty – with there being claims it might have to film in the UK.

However, ITV bosses have insisted that the show will return next year, with an ‘extended run’ to make up for the cancelled series this year.

An ITV spokesman said: ‘Love Island UK will return bigger and better than ever with an extended run in summer 2021.’

A source told The Sun: ‘ITV want Love Island to be a huge success so have decided to put all their energy into making next summer’s series a bumper run, and not trying to force a winter version given the uncertainty in the television industry still at this point.

‘January 2021 seems a long way off but the process would be starting imminently and with certain restrictions still in place they don’t want to approach anything half-baked.’
