Love Island ’s Luis Morrison’s baby son has left hospital, nine weeks after being born prematurely.
Luis, 27, and his partner Chloe Elizabeth, 22, welcomed their first child together, a baby boy called Romeo, 11 weeks earlier than planned.
Baby Romeo was born prematurely in October and had been staying in a neonatal intensive care unit ever since.
However, the couple have since revealed the happy news that they’ve now been able to bring their baby home.
Posting to Instagram, Chloe shared a photo of herself carrying Romeo in a baby carrier as she left the hospital, with an oxygen tank over her back to help the baby breathe.
In the caption, she wrote: “We did it Romeo, you did it. Nearly 9 whole weeks I have watched you fight every single day, it has been the hardest thing I’ve ever had to face, but you NEVER give up and I am SO PROUD of you.
“There is no words to explain how much of a rollercoaster the NICU has been but if do it all again if it meant I got you as the end result. Romeo you truly are my little superman, I am the luckiest girl alive to be ur mammy.”
“And to the NHS and every nurse in neonatal at the RVI and Sunderland hospital, thank you SO much for looking after my little boy when I couldn’t, yous are amazing and your truly are heros, yous saved my little boys life and yous also saved mine. Now on to the next chapter… the best Christmas present there ever was…”
Luis, who appeared on Love Island in 2015, is already a dad to daughter Vienna, who he welcomed into the world in 2017 alongside his then-girlfriend Cally Jane Beech.
The couple announced the exciting news of their pregnancy back in July when Luis shared a black and white snap of two baby sleep suits which had "I love my Daddy" and "I love my Mummy" etched on.
The baby grows were surrounded by ultrasound scan images and a sweet bunny stuffed toy.
Luis shared the photo and told fans in the caption: "2021 turned out alright then! Can't wait to meet you [blue heart emoji] [pink heart emoji] Our little blessing…"
Meanwhile, Chloe shared the same photo and shared her shock over the pregnancy. She said: "Half of me|half of you. Never thought in a million years I’d be writing this post but would like to announce me and lu are expecting January 2022.
"The biggest shock ever but I can’t wait to meet whatever he or she may be so overwhelmed will love and emotion.
"My heart is SO full just when I thought I’d escaped the lockdown baby boom."
However, the couple ended up welcoming their baby earlier than planned when he was born almost three months ahead of schedule on 18 October, weighing 2lb 4oz.
At the time, Luis shared a snap of the newborn baby wrapped in a white knitted blanket and tubes into his nose and mouth.
As he shared a photo of the newborn on his Instagram page, Luis wrote in the caption: "Welcome to the world Baby Romeo!
"Romeo was born 11 weeks early, and can't wait to get him home hopefully before Christmas!
"Super proud of you already" the dad gushed followed by a blue heart emoji.
