Noel Gallagher responds to Rihanna dating rumours and we are stunned

Noel Gallagher was once romantically linked to pop superstar Rihanna but the rocker has insisted there is no truth to the age-old rumours.

The former Oasis singer was rumoured to have dated the Wild Thoughts hitmaker years ago, you know, back when RiRi actually blessed us with music. Sigh.

And for those who still wondered whether RiRi and Noel had more than music interests in each other, you’ll be sorely disappointed.

When asked about the rumours on Matt Morgan’s podcast, Noel stated: ‘It’s not true. I wish it was. Good luck to her man.’

There you have it.

Rihanna, 32, is currently single after her split from businessman Hassan Jameel earlier this year. The couple dated for around three years but are said to have separated due to their busy work schedules, with RiRi busy expanding her fashion and beauty empire.

But of course, Noel, 53, is happily married and only has eyes for his wife Sara MacDonald, whom he tied the knot with in 2011.

While there were no romantic antics, Noel did once recall playing a joke on Rihanna back in the day.

During the GQ Awards in 2013, the rocker revealed how he came across Rihanna’s dressing room at a festival in Norway filled with expensive clothes from designers.

‘They all had these cards in front of them, saying, “Dear Rihanna, we are such huge fans, please accept this $90,000 handbag from whoever and whoever”,’ Noel recalled.

He added: ‘And I’m reading all these cards as I’m waiting to go in, so I went back to my dressing room and got the little bowl of Cadburys chocolates and left it there on her table with a card saying, “Dear Rihanna, please accept these chocolates on behalf of Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds”.

‘And she took them. She f***ing took them!’

We wouldn’t expect anything less.

Meanwhile, his wife Sara recently opened up about being married to a British rock icon and recalled advice from her mother shared before they married.

Speaking to Vogue in April, Sara explained: ‘She said, and she was right, “You’re going to struggle not being the first person people look at when you walk into a room”. People would physically push past me to get to him.’

However she admitted: ‘Slowly, you start to get over it.’
