Steph McGovern, 39, wasn’t feeling her best self as she fell victim to the fairground teacups, while she enjoys a trip away wit her family while her Channel 4 show Packed Lunch is on a haitus for the summer. The former BBC Breakfast star, who is set to appear on The Wheel tonight, found she could not longer hack the children’s ride, and ended up throwing up after two spins.

Enjoyment 1/10. Embarrassment 10/10

Documenting her time at the small seaside town of Ballycastle in Northern Ireland, the presenter told the sorry tale on Instagram, leaving her followers in fits of laughter.

“Kids asked me to go on the spinning teacups with them… what’s the worst that can happen I thought?” she penned alongside a photo of her in a tea cup with a little girl.

“Well first up, I couldn’t fit my arse in the teacup… cue the inevitable laughter from onlookers as they watch a grown woman force herself into a child’s seat.

“I didn’t let that stop me though. Oh no. After wedging myself in we were off…… hooray I thought. This is a proper holiday now!”

But it soon all went downhill.

She continued: “Then after two spins… I was instantly taken back to my teenage years… when I threw up on the Waltzer after drinking too much cider and doing too many spins.”

“‘GET ME OFF!’ I screamed. ‘KEEP SPINNING!!’ Screamed the kids.”

“Enjoyment 1/10. Embarrassment 10/10.”

Fans rushed to the comments section to share their thoughts, with many praising her for her frank honesty about the situation.

“They are the worst! I can go on big rollercoasters and other rides but those teacups, there’s no chance I’m getting on anything that spins like that,” one exclaimed.

Another added: “This has made my Monday #classicsteph.”

A third said: “I love how honest you are about it, I would have died!!!”

“Absolutely brilliant. I get sick on everything so I’m usually the coat/bag lady at the fair ground!” a fourth giggled.

A fifth sighed: “Hahaha kids are the worst, rope you in then laugh at your suffering.”

“We’ve all been there!” sympathised a sixth.

While a seventh praised: “Oh Steph you are such good fun.”

The Wheel airs tonight at 8:30 on BBC One.
