Actress, writer and producer Taraji P. Henson will host the 2020 American Music Awards.
Dubbed music’s hottest night of the year, the American Music Awards will feature marquee performances and signature breathtaking moments, live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on November 22 at 8 p.m. EST/PST on ABC.
Responding to the news, Henson said, “The AMAs brings together the music community to celebrate what really drives all artists – the fans.”
The Golden Globe-winning actress said she is proud to take the stage as this year’s host – and also a fan – for what promises to be an electrifying night of music.
Pop singer and American Music Award nominee Dua Lipa will perform at this year’s show.
Two-time AMA winner The Weeknd and rapper Roddy Ricch received the most nominations – 8 each, including for Artist of the Year.
Other nominees for the coveted Artist of the Year category are Justin Bieber, Post Malone and Taylor Swift.
First-time nominee Megan Thee Stallion earned five nominations, becoming the most nominated female artist this year.
