The View co-hosts have something to say about Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez’s split, and they did not hold back.
During the April 16, 2021 episode of the morning talk show, the hosts discussed the upsetting — but not necessarily shocking — break-up, and they were not pleased with Rodriguez in particular. Referring to the cheating scandal Rodriguez found himself in with Southern Charm star Madison LeCroy, Meghan McCain said he is a “jerk” and that she’s “not a fan” of him. Her co-host Ana Navarro described him as a charm on Lopez’s neck who was “always stealing her spotlight.” The View then played a slideshow of pictures of the former couple together at events like Joe Biden’s inauguration, where the “Pa Ti” singer performed, and Super Bowl LIV in 2020, where Lopez performed in the halftime show, to support their case.
Actress Yvette Nicole Brown later joined the show to promote her new Disney series, Big Shot, and she was also given a chance to comment on the breakup. She seemed to share the same sentiment of The View co-hosts. “In my mind, if you are friends before you get into the relationship, you can remain friends after,” she explained. She then added that relationships built on an untrue foundation cannot be sustained, alluding that Rodriguez may not have been in it for the right reasons.
So, why do the co-hosts have such a poor view on the breakup? Previous relationship drama may be a factor.
