Alexander Ludwig has opened up exclusively to Express.co.uk about whether he’ll be returning to the world of Vikings any time soon. The Bjorn Ironside star left the show in its final series but has not ruled out future opportunities to get back involved as the series heads to Netflix.

Last year, Vikings was brought to an end on History Channel and Amazon Prime Video.

However, fans were also given the exciting news that the series will be returning with a new spin-off.

Called Vikings: Valhalla, the show will be landing on Netflix and is due to be set around 100 years post the original release.

While it’s not expected to include any of the original characters of the show, one of the stars hasn’t ruled out the possibility of returning.

Chatting to Express.co.uk about his role, Ludwig opened up about loving playing Bjorn in the series.

This comes after the star was also able to briefly reprise a similar role for an advert recently.

He donned his Vikings gear for a new game called Rise of Kingdoms, which sent his fans into overdrive.

Ludwig explained: “Because of likeness issues, we had to reprise the role, closely but not identically.

“It was a mobile app game that wasn’t affiliated with the show so we had to find a clever way to do it.

“But, I mean it was fun, it was a fun little thing to do. I love that game.”

Ludwig also admitted he also loved getting back into a similar character after his time away.

He continued: “It was fun to get back in viking mode for a second.

“I hope that’s not the last time, you know?

“I know that there have always been talks about developing the world down the road.

“And you know, I would always be open to doing something like that if it made sense.”

Alongside acting, the star has also released his own EP of country music.

The talented singer dropped the self-titled record recently featuring hit songs like Love Today, Sunset Town and Summer Crazy.

Since then, he’s racked up millions of streams on Spotify from his fans.

Speaking about the transition, Ludwig explained: “When you boil it all down, I’m a storyteller.

“That’s what I love to do in every walk of life and I don’t think that there’s any better platform than country music to do that.”

Alexander Ludwig’s self-titled EP is available to listen to now.
