Anthony Joshua reacts to video of Tyson Fury looking out of shape

Tyson Fury is set to meet Anthony Joshua later this year

Anthony Joshua is ignoring footage that suggests Tyson Fury is currently out of shape, according to Eddie Hearn.

Joshua and Fury are on course to meet later this year to crown an undisputed world heavyweight champion with both Britons collectively holding all four major titles.

While an agreement in principal has been struck, the fight is still unconfirmed, meaning neither fighter has begun training camp.

Fury posted footage of himself enjoying time with his family at the beach last week, with many noticing the ‘Gypsy King’ carrying some extra weight.

And Joshua took notice of the post, but refused to allow it to shift his mindset that he expects the very best version of Fury on the night they eventually meet in the ring.

“I think before he goes into any main camp he doesn’t look like AJ, ever,” Hearn told Seconds Out.

“The response from AJ was, ‘We’re gonna get the best Tyson Fury, so I don’t care if he’s carrying a bit of extra weight now, I’m training for the best ever Tyson Fury.’

“And, make no mistake, Fury will be in top shape for this fight.”

Hearn said at the start of the month that draft contracts for the Fury fight had been sent out from their end.

“We’re back and forward with draft contracts,” Hearn told said. “We’ve sent a draft contract, they’ve sent some minor changes – nothing too big, so again we’re moving in the right direction.

“I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve said ‘the next two weeks’, but the next two weeks we hope for an official announcement and then we go out and decide where this thing will take place.”
