“Friends” pop-up experience coming to Denver’s Cherry Creek West

Denverites will soon have a chance to cozy up on the iconic orange couch from TV series “Friends” and, yes, snap a selfie when a themed pop-up comes to the Mile High City later this year.

At the aptly named Friends Experience, fans get to see how it feels when their job’s a joke, they’re broke and their love life’s D.O.A. (clap clap clap clap) via 12 rooms designed to mimic popular sets, including Central Perk coffee shop, Monica’s apartment kitchen and the water fountain from the opening credits. (Fun fact: That fountain featured in the show is not located in New York City.)

The pop-up was originally created to celebrate the show’s 25th anniversary in 2019 and proved so buzz-worthy it has since traveled to New York City, Boston, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas and Phoenix.

The Friends Experience arrives at Cherry Creek West shopping center (2500 East First Ave.) on June 16 and runs through Sept. 5. Tickets cost $32 (plus tax and fees) and go on sale at 10 a.m. March 29 at friendstheexperience.com/denver. According to a press release, there will be “specially priced tickets” available for children, students, military and seniors.

In addition to picking a date to attend, you’ll also pick an entry time. There’s no time limit, but a spokesperson said guests spend 45 minutes to an hour on average onsite.
