Alan Halsall has been on our screens playing Tyrone Dobbs for 22 years, and in that time he has undergone quite the body transformation.

The 38 year old has documented his body transformation on social media and there’s no denying the TV star and dad-of-one is in great shape.

Alan credits hiking, regular gym sessions and healthy eating with getting him into shape.

His newly toned physique was first clocked by fans back in 2018, after the actor posted a ripped selfie of himself in Ibiza.

Alan has spoken about his personal trainer and how he has whipped him into shape with sessions mixing cardio with weight training.

“I like to come (to the gym). I have a pre-workout meal, I work out, then I have a post-workout meal or a swim and a steam,” he told The Sun.

He has also says how hot yoga sessions keep him flexible and strong, inspired by his girlfriend Tisha Merry who is also a fan. Alan recently explained that exercise helped the pair bond.

He said: “I’d really got into hot yoga and someone mentioned that Tisha was going to the same studio so I thought we could go together.”

The soap star also loves playing team sports and badminton with Tisha, who he met after she played Steph Britton on Corrie three years ago.

The real fitness kick started shortly after his marriage to Lucy Jo Hudson ended and the actor hit the gym regularly with co-star Colson Smith, who has also lost a huge amount of weight.

Alan isn’t just religious about his exercise regime, he also is careful about what he eats, sticking to a healthy diet.

However, the star isn’t totally strict and still allows himself the odd cheat day pint or cocktail and dinner out.

With most gyms currently closed, Alan hasn’t let his fitness slip and has been pictured on plenty of bike rides during the lockdowns.

The actor is also careful to look after his mental health as much as his physical, sharing on Instagram: “Health is not just about the weights you’re lifting or what you’re eating. It’s also about what you’re thinking and saying!”
