Liam Gallagher stormed off after Vic Reeves beat him in tense arm wrestle match

Liam Gallagher challenged comic Vic Reeves to an arm wrestle – and lost.

The former Oasis singer stormed off after the Shooting Stars host, whose real name is Jim Moir, slammed his hand down.

Vic’s comedy pal Bob Mortimer said it happened at a post-BRITs booze-up in a posh hotel.

In his new book, And Away, Bob says: “The Gallagher brothers were there, Liam was with his girlfriend Patsy Kensit.

“Liam started to accuse Jim of not being working class and demanded Jim arm wrestle him to prove which one of them was more working class.

“That sort of malarkey is right up Jim’s street, so he immediately agreed.

“A table was cleared and the arm wrestle began.

“The ‘wrestle’ lasted about two seconds with Jim slamming Liam’s hand on to the table with a minimum of fuss.

“Liam immediately jumped up and barked at Patsy. ‘Right, that’s f***ing it, we’re going to bed. I’m right out of form.'

“Off he strode, utilising his always famous superwaddle."

Vic, 62, is 13 years older than Liam but still had the muscle to send the rocker packing with his tail between his legs.

They were celebrating Jarvis Cocker’s freedom after he was nicked for wiggling his bum on stage as Michael Jackson performed.

Last month, Liam was forced to cancel a show after he fell out of a helicopter.

He shared a picture of his battered face and said: "Absolutely gutted to cancel my Belfast show this weekend. I had an accident after IOW festival and have bust my nose so can't sing."

Liam added: "The doctors have told me to rest up. Apologies to all the people who had bought tickets. The show is being rescheduled."
