MARKO ARNAUTOVIC is finally set to finally join Bologna after reported ‘misunderstandings’ with Shanghai Port over his £200,000-a-week contract.
The former Stoke City and West Ham star, 32, was hoping to complete a transfer to Bologna earlier this month.
However, the deal was held up after he allegdly demanded a hefty severance package from Port, formerly known as Shanghai SIPG.
Arnautovic was reportedly hoping to pocket £3.43million by having his contract terminated, allowing him to join Bologna on a free.
However, Sky Sports Italy now claims the Serie A club will instead pay £2.5m to Shanghai Port as compensation.
And that will allow Arnautovic, who starred for Austria at Euro 2020, to pen a three-year deal with Bologna.
New boss Sinisa Mihajlovic insists Arnautovic ‘never had any doubts’ the move would fall through.
And after several ‘misunderstandings’, all parties have been left satisfied.
Mihajlovic said: “We were always convinced that he would arrive and Marko never had any doubts.
“The club will do everything possible to get him.
“We had some misunderstandings with the Chinese side, but I am very confident he will arrive.”

The transfer will mark Arnautovic’s second spell in Italy.
The forward spent the 09/10 campaign on loan at Inter Milan from Dutch side Twente.
But Arnautovic only made three appearances under Jose Mourinho, scoring zero goals as Inter went on to win a historic Treble.
