Shoppers across the country are desperate to get their hands on essential items and because of panic buying, many items are now being rationed.

Despite the supermarkets reassuring people there is enough  to go around, online shopping slots are hard to come by and restrictions are now in place on some items.

But small businesses across the UK are stepping up and households are now turning to them to get their products.

From basic foods and household goods to beers, baby food, and cleaning products there are businesses both large and small you can shop at.

In a time when many businesses – both big and small – are loosing money, with news this week that one million firms are close to failure, it's more important than ever to support out local shops.

Businesses have called on the banks to "repay the favour" and help them out after criticisms they were bailed out during the last financial crisis, and are making money off the current one.

There are thousands of companies offering online services now. Many are listed on local news websites or on social media.

For example, the organic baby food producer, Piccolo, has started selling bundles which contain baby milk and food pouches.

Here we’ve listed just a very small selection of those providing food, drinks and essential items across the UK.
