If the thought of baking a banana bread or taking part in a Zoom quiz to pass time this lockdown sends shivers down your spine, then we have just the thing for you.
There’s a website that lets you watch animal webcams dotted all around the world.
If lockdown is getting to you the third time around, Explore.org offers the perfect uplifting antidote.
Visitors simply choose the animal they want to start watching from the homepage and then click on it to jump straight into the live streams.
There are Labrador puppy pens, kitten sanctuaries and donkey barns to dip into, as well as African watering holes (where you can spot elephants, hippos and other wildlife), gorilla forests, lion territories and more.
Each webcam you select tells you how many other people are currently viewing and also comes with facts about the animals you are watching.
But just a warning: the website is pretty addictive. Once you start selecting different cameras you’ll find it hard to stop.
It’s also incredibly relaxing to have on in the background while you go about your day at home – and is a great entertaining option for kids who are inside for long periods at the moment.
As well as animals, you can choose various scenic spots including rivers, beaches and areas where the Northern Lights appear.
With travel currently off the cards, Explore.org lets you explore different corners of the world from the comfort of your own sofa.
Last year, zoos around the world started broadcasting similar live webcams from inside their animal enclosures – so people could still experience a venue whilst they remained closed to the public.
Anything that offers adorable animal content, we are sold.
