Olivier Giroud has emerged as a target for Juventus, as the Italian giants struggle to get deals for Edin Dzeko and Luis Suarez over the line.

According to Sky Sports, the Old Lady are trying to do a deal with Roma for the former Manchester City striker, but the Giallorossi don't want to let the Bosnian go without a replacement.

Frenchman Giroud is currently considered third-choice striker at Chelsea, after the signing of Timo Werner and behind the younger Tammy Abraham.

Tottenham are trying to re-sign Gareth Bale on loan – in a bid to stop him from joining Manchester United.

Spurs chiefs fear United are closing in on a deal to take the Wales star from Real Madrid for the rest of the season.

So they are frantically putting together a package to entice him back to North London.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, who negotiated Bale’s sale to the Bernabeu in 2013 for a then-world record fee of £86million, is keen to make the deal happen.

He reckons bringing the Welshman – whose shirts have been pulled from the Real shop – back would appease their fans and lift the gloom that has descended on the club since Sunday’s 1-0 home defeat by Everton.

But Tottenham know they now have to move quickly as rivals United are attempting to seal a season-long loan for the former Southampton trainee – who can leave Real Madrid after being frozen out by their manager Zinedine Zidane.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is dragging this one out.

He's parked up at the Emirates in his Ferrari.

Arsenal are set for a vital boost to their transfer kitty with the sale of Emiliano Martinez.

With the goalkeeper heading to Aston Villa for £20million, the Gunners will sign up replacement Runar Alex Runarsson for just £1.5m.

The 25-year-old Dijon stopper is understood to have a medical in place ahead of signing a five-year deal.

Such a big profit margin will help in Mikel Arteta’s efforts to land another midfielder with Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey and Lyon’s Houssem Aouar top of his list.

The Gunners are looking to get even more fringe players off their books to fund any deals before the October 5 deadline.

Arsenal are still in talks to sign Dijon goalkeeper Runar Alex Runarsson in a £1.5million deal to replace Emiliano Martinez, reports DANIEL CUTTS.

The 25-year-old Iceland stopper is understood to have had a medical in place ahead of signing a five-year deal.

He will become their new No2 behind Bernd Leno and is expected to play in cup competitions and the Europa League.

The Gunners saw Runarsson as a cheap option, with Matt Macey set to stay as third-choice goalkeeper.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will then use the £20m from Martinez’s move to Aston Villa in other areas.

BT Sport is set for a £4 price rise from November 1.

If you're an entertainment package holder, the price will also go up by a further £2.

This could add an annual £72 to bills. expert Nick Baker said: “A £4 increase to BT’s sports bundle and a £2 hike to its Entertainment package will add £72 a year to bills, placing more pressure on households at a time when many are feeling the pinch.

“Recent rule changes mean that large groups of friends and family can’t gather in pubs and houses, so more people will need their own TV subscription to ensure that they don’t miss out.

“Existing customers may feel doubly hard done by, since the price rise comes as BT is offering new customers heavily discounted TV prices for six months.”

Arsenal have changed their Twitter biography.

The new description says: “If you're reading this, turn your notifications on.”

West Brom want to sign Conor Gallagher on loan – before the ink is dry on his new long-term Chelsea contract, reports GRAEME BRYCE.

The 20-year-old midfielder is highly-rated by Blues boss Frank Lampard who sees his long-term future at Stamford Bridge.

But he wants to secure Gallagher’s signature on a lengthy new deal before giving him his blessing to head for the Hawthorns.

Slaven Bilic hopes a one-year-loan deal can be tied-up in time for Saturday’s trip to Everton and Gallagher’s contract talks don’t slow down his arrival.

The Chelsea kid appeared to be on his way to Crystal Palace last week until Roy Hodgson decided to sign Michy Batshuayi instead.

Premier League rules limit clubs to signing only one player from a Premier rival, leaving the door wide open for Bilic to try and snap up Gallagher.

Miralem Pjanic is taking Andres Iniesta's old Barcelona number.

The Bosnia midfielder, 30, left Juventus to move to the Nou Camp, while Arthur has gone the other way.

Reports in Spain claim that Sergio Reguilon's transfer to Manchester United is “very close.”

El Espanol report that United have refused to include a buy-back clause in the deal with Real Madrid.

Los Blancos value Reguilon at around £27.6million, but United are currently trying to negotiate that downward.

The price remains the “biggest obstacle.”

Skipper Jack Grealish has revealed his delight at remaining an Aston Villa player.

The 25-year-old midfielder said: “I am delighted to make this commitment to Villa. It is my club, my home and I am very happy here.

“The owners have made it very clear to me how ambitious they are and how they want to build Aston Villa.

“There are exciting times ahead and I am very glad to be part of it.”

Journalist and BT Sport pundit Julien Laurens has hit out at Manchester United for their pursuit of Gareth Bale, Douglas Costa and Ivan Perisic.

He told ESPN FC: “Surely not, surely not. Please Manchester United, be a bit creative for once.

“He's 31, maybe he wants to come home, maybe he wants to play again more than he did last year, but this would be such a short-term fix. That would even be on loan.

“Why not invest some of the money in a younger player who has potential, that can grow in your club, that can be there for years and years?

“Instead of going to get a Bale or even a Perisic on loan or a Douglas Costa on loan, those players who are veterans, who have been from one club to another to another.

“Come on, it's time to be creative for Manchester United, to try and find better ideas and go in a different direction.

“I'm not sure what Bale could do in that club, what sort of fix you'd expect him to bring.”

Former Manchester United star Luke Chadwick has claimed his old club should move for Gareth Bale.

He told Caught Offside: “I think Bale would certainly give a buzz around the place.

“He’s obviously had a tough few years and not played the amount of football he would have hoped.

“But in terms of the sort of player he is, when you talk about Man United players of the past, he’s someone who would get the crowd excited, get fans off their seats.

“A wide player in the mould of Sancho, Bale, in my opinion would be a fantastic signing. One of those two, or someone in that position, needs to come in.”

Benik Afobe is joining Turkish club Trabzonspor for a season.

The Stoke striker confirmed to SunSport that he has joined the Super Lig club in a move that will be officially announced later.

Former Arsenal and Bournemouth striker Afobe, 27, was left out of Michael O’Neill’s squad for the opening-day draw against Millwall.

And he is set to put pen to paper on a deal that will keep him in the Turkish city of Trabzon until next spring.

Afobe – who Stoke bought from Bournemouth for £12million in the summer of 2018 – was on loan last season at Bristol City.

But after scoring three goals in five games, the striker injured his ACL and did not return to action until after the coronavirus lockdown.

There's still three weeks of deals to be signed off before the transfer window slams shut – but one of the summer's longest-running sagas appears to be over.

Aston Villa have confirmed they have tied down star man Jack Grealish to a huge new five-year deal.

Man Utd were looking to sign the midfielder this summer but Grealish says he is 'happy' at Villa Park and there are 'exciting times ahead'.

He revealed: “It's my club. I'm happy here.

“The owners have made it very clear to me how ambitious they are and how they want to build Aston Villa.

“There are exciting times ahead and I am very glad to be part of it.”

Elsehwere, Man Utd and Liverpool could get Kylian Mbappe for just £111m next summer.

But LaLiga giants Real Madrid remain favourites for the Frenchman's signature.

It emerged at the weekend that the 21-year-old striker has told Paris Saint-Germain he wants to leave at the end of the season.

Mbappe has less than two years remaining on his contract in the French capital.

And despite being valued at £400m currently, AS claims that could force PSG to sell him for the reduced price of £111m once he enters the final 12 months of his deal.

And finally, there has been a fresh twist in the Gareth Bale to the Premier League tale.

ESPN claim that while Man Utd are keen on a loan move for the Welshman, the transfer isn't a priority – and that puts Spurs in the driving seat.

Former club Tottenham are said to hold the advantage after making their move for the 31-year-old.
