All weekend, Taylor Swift fans have been celebrating the release of “Red (Taylor’s Version),” including more than a few famous faces.
Now, another famous fan has joined the Swifties’ ranks: William Daniels, the actor who played beloved teacher Mr. Feeny on ABC’s “Boy Meets World.”
On Sunday, the 94-year-old made an appearance on his granddaughter Grace’s TikTok, where he had high praise for Swift’s re-recorded album:
“… Some things get better with age, like the wisdom of Mr. Feeny,” he said. “So, I’m here to tell you to listen to the new and better ‘Red’ by Taylor Swift, mostly based on the recommendation of my granddaughter Grace,” Daniels said with a smile.
He closed his message with a double reference, quoting one of Mr. Feeny’s most inspiring lines and fan-favorite “Red” track “All Too Well” saying, “and as you know all too well, believe in yourself, dream, try, do good.”
In response, Swift excitedly commented, “My brother and I are FREAKING OUT, we’re huge fans!!! This is so awesome. Thank you! And thank you Grace!!!”
“Boy Meets World” ran for seven seasons from 1993 to 2000 and was a major success, garnering awards and a spinoff series, “Girl Meets World,” which ran from 2014 to 2017 on the Disney Channel.
Swift, 31, grew up in the 1990s and counts herself as a huge fan.
Clearly, the feeling is mutual: Daniels is even wearing a red flannel shirt in the TikTok, perfectly fitting the autumn aesthetic of “Red.” All that’s missing is a red scarf.
“Red (Taylor’s Version)” is a re-recording of her fourth studio album, “Red” and her second re-recording after she released “Fearless (Taylor’s Version)” in April. The album features several previously unreleased songs, including a 10-minute original version of “All Too Well.” Swift wrote and directed an accompanying short film, which premiered Nov. 12.
