Bradley Walsh and The Chase fans stunned as contestant pulls off £28,000 gamble

Bradley Walsh and fans of The Chase were left stunned after one contestant pulled off an impressive gamble.

Contestant Rosemary appeared on Monday's edition of the hit ITV show, telling Bradley she always promised herself she would take the higher offer.

However, initially as she stood face to face with Chaser of the day The Governess and admitted she wasn't sure if she could take the risk after being handed a high stakes deal..

Trying to entice Rosemary closer to danger, The Governess, whose real name is Anne Hegerty, offered her big money earner of £28,000 in return for her taking a step further away from home.

Turning to Bradley, the contestant said: "I always said I never wanted to hear you say 'you should have gone for the higher offer' but now I'm here…"

After pausing, she added: "Oh you're only here once," and took the offer.

In rare scenes of success not often seen on the show, Rosemary managed to make it back home with the money uncaught.

Impressed, The Governess said: "Very well done.

"I couldn't have caught you as you only got one wrong."

Later on in the show, second contestant Dave also made it back.

The hopeful decided to stick with his initial £6,000 prize pot meaning he made it back home.

After just two players the total pot was at £34,000.

However, third contestant Lindsey found it harder.

The sales woman only bagged £2,000.

Despite being tempted with offers of -£1,000 and £32,000 she opted to stick with her initial winnings.

Sadly she failed to make it home leaving fourth contestant primary school teacher Mark to try and boost the main prize pot.

In a lucky twist of fate despite Mark only managing to bag £1,000 during his quick fire round he ended up not being caught by The Governess.

Taking to Twitter, fans of the show couldn't get over Rosemary's big win.

One supporter praised: "Nice one Rosemary. #TheChase"

Another added: "YOLO klaxon!!! Go on Rosemary!! #TheChase"
