Corrie spoilers hint Nina self-harms, Fiz and Ruby heartache, and Carla exit

Coronation Street spoilers have predicted near-death experiences, unlikely romances and legal battles on the horizon in Weatherfield, with heartache galore.

Kicking things off, Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) undergoes his liver transplant, as the Barlow family pray for his speedy recovery after years of rehabilitation and relapses.

Elsewhere, Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) struggles to handle her grief in the wake of Seb Franklin's funeral and turns to self-harm as an emotional outlet.

Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) and Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) bring some light to the street with a blossoming romance, but Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) makes a heart-wrenching discovering when eavesdropping on a conversation.

And, topping things off, Fiz Brown (Jenny McAlpine) snaps and decides she wants to set up a custody battle between herself and Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall), her heartache clouding her judgement.

Below are the juiciest Corrie spoilers of the week – don't miss an episode.

Carla gets the sack

Carla Connor (Alison King) gives Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien) the cold shoulder, insisting she's heralding Peter's death with Adam's (Sam Robertson) refusal to donate his liver.

Daniel Barlow (Rob Mallard) learns he's not a match for Peter, but the Barlows' luck turns when Carla is contacted by the hospital, who informs her they have found a match.

Carla desperately tries to track Peter down and finds him in the nick of time, as he is weak to the point of collapse in the bistro.

Saying goodbye to her husband, Carla is emotional, praying the transplant will be successful and their lives can return to normal.

Realising she needs to devote herself to caring for Peter, Carla asks for some time off work, only for Sarah to ask her to never come back to the factory.

Sarah points out Carla's dodgy deal with Lucas (Glen Wallace) nearly bankrupted them – is this the end of her reign at the Underworld factory?

Custody wars

Alina Pop (Ruxandra Porojnicu) offers to babysit the girls in a bid to get closer to them but naively agrees to give Hope eyelash extensions – much to Fiz's horror.

Making matters worse, when Fiz learns Alina and Tyrone's sexy photoshoot got leaked she is furious and demands that he pay up for Hope's school trip.

Pulling in a second favour, Tyrone asks Alina to pick Hope up from school when she gets caught misbehaving, but disaster strikes when the child runs in front of a car.

Fiz is seething when she learns Hope's life was in danger and tells Tyrone their daughters' safety is her priority, suggesting they need to formalise their custody agreement.

Tyrone argues Ruby is his biological daughter, not hers, striking a dagger through Fiz's heart.

Fiz approaches Adam and asks for his help, seeking legal agreement on gaining custody of the girls.

When she learns Tyrone and Alina have been splashing out on going clubbing, it's the last straw, and Fiz confronts her ex, vowing to apply for a parental consent order for Ruby.

Tyrone is stricken, as Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) points out there are no winners in a spiteful custody battle – what decision will Fiz make?

Romance brewing

Bernie manages to prove Evelyn is lying about her injury and instructs a delighted Dev to take her out for a drink as a reward.

Before they head out, Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain) pokes fun at his dad's non-existent love life, prompting Bernie to pretend they're on a date, keeping up the charade throughout their day out.

The pair hit it off and Dev suggests they head back to his place afterwards, which results in an afternoon of passion.

Dev insists it won't happen again, but Bernie is offended by his arrogance, pointing out he should be so lucky to get a second chance.

Meanwhile, Mary learns Bernie has bedded Dev and scolds her, accusing her of taking advantage of the businessman.

However, when Mary hears Dev cruelly laughing about the one-night-stand, claiming it was a drunken mistake, she feels stricken.

Could Dev and Bernie become a legitimate couple, or will his ego get in the way?

Nina's ordeal worsens

Nina opens up to Asha Alan (Tanisha Gorey), emotionally confessing she can't stop blaming herself for Seb's murder, struggling to come to terms with her grief.

Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) and Roy Cropper (David Neilson) plead with Nina to help talk to Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby), concerned about the teen, who has stopped eating and sleeping.

Nina snaps at Summer and asks her how she thinks she feels, pointing out she is dealing with a colossal loss of her own.
