EASTENDERS fans were left furious tonight as they were left waiting for the soap to air after a "technical fault" on the BBC.
An episode of Panorama went off midway through, pushing the show back for several minutes.
An announcer interrupted the broken broadcast to apologise.
He said: "You're watching BBC One and we're having quite a night here.
"Do bear with us. We’ve got a few technical problems. We are working on them and we hope to sort them as soon as we possibly can."
The fault pushed EastEnders back for 14 minutes.
"We are sorry for the break in this programme and are trying to correct the fault", a message said before Panorama was due to air at 7.30pm.
When the programme eventually started up, it pushed Eastenders back by 15 minutes.
Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid said: "2020 has claimed BBC One."
Other viewers were left furious they had to wait to watch the episode of their favourite soap.
One wrote: "Is this what I pay my license fee for @BBCOne a VERY late #eastenders"
A second said: "Late with Eastenders, then they show that crappy public information broadcast, come on @BBCOne !"
Another added: "LOOOOOL HURRY UP WE DON’T NEED A GOVERNMENT FILM EASTENDERS IS ALREADY 10 MINUTES LATE"
A fourth commented: "God #EastEnders is late enough already, the last thing we need is bloody handsfacespace"
