Sharon Mitchell’s (Letitia Dean) plot to kill Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) might be about to be exposed after she tried to let Tina Carter (Luisa Bradshaw-White) take the blame.
Ian managed to survive being hit over the head by Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden), but Sharon has been determined to get revenge on him for the death of her son Denny, who drowned after Ian locked him in a room on a party boat which sank.
With Phil not managing to finish the job and avenge Denny’s death, Sharon has been slowly poisoning Ian to do it herself.
However, she might be about to slip up and let the cat out of the bag that it’s really her making an attempt on Ian’s life after a blunder at a party at the Vic.
Letitia revealed that Sharon will falter in next week’s episodes, explaining: ‘She does start to let the guilt and fear eat away at her after months and months and I think the enormity of the situation is starting to hit her.
‘With Kathy, Linda, Shirley all swimming around her and Ian she’s constantly on edge and now worried about getting caught out. There’s a couple of things said or done that spook her and she doubts herself.’
After Ian landed in hospital, he and Sharon got married at his bedside, but Ian’s mum Kathy has always been sceptical about the sham marriage.
In order to convince everyone that the marriage is real, Sharon decides to throw a wedding party at the Vic – but with the whole of Walford in attendance, people may start to suspect something is wrong with Ian.
Letitia explained: ‘On a complete whim she tells Kathy she’s throwing a big party to celebrate her marriage for the whole Square to finally see their love.
‘Naturally she instantly regrets it as she has just invited the whole of Walford who will now see how bad Ian is getting with their own eyes.’
Ian is set to surprise Sharon with a romantic gesture that puts her poker face to the test, but which leaves her having to hide her disgust.
Letitia adds: ‘Her resolve is wavering but Sharon won’t go that easily, she still wants Ian gone.’
