Emily Atack and Laura Whitmore 'sign up as Celebrity Juice captains'

Emily Atack and Laura Whitmore are said to have joined Celebrity Juice as the show’s next team captains.

Earlier this year, Holly Willoughby decided to walk away from the programme after sitting next to Keith Lemon behind the panel for 12 years.

And it sounds as though ITV has found her replacement – as well as Mel B who also recently announced her departure.

When talking to The Sun, a source claimed: ‘The show definitely needed a bit of a shake-up and bosses hope Emily and Laura can do that.

‘It’s one of ITV’s biggest brands and there’s still lots of fun to be had with it.’

They added: ‘Keith can’t wait to initiate the new team captains into the show and there are plenty of surprises lined up for viewers.’

Holly originally joined Fearne Cotton as team leaders, until the radio presenter left in 2018.

The This Morning host shortly followed suit, seeing her announced the news in an emotional Instagram post.

‘Thank you Celebrity Juice for 12 years of fantastic chaos…’ she wrote to her followers. ‘I can’t quite believe what we’ve done and how quick that time has gone. Thank you to you all for watching..we’ve always had the loudest and best audiences.’

The presenter added: ‘Also a huge thank you to ITV2 for believing in the show in the first place and for all of your support…

‘Over the years the production team has changed, however to anyone lucky enough to have worked on the show, they will know that we really do have the best time, it’s never felt like work and always been to me like a night out…’

Keith later revealed he was ‘gutted’ Holly was leaving the show and explained that she is ‘like a sister’ to him.

‘I was really sad and realised I was going to miss her,’ Keith began to The Sun. ‘She rang me up. She never usually rings me so I thought she is going to tell me she’s pregnant.

‘She said, “I’ve got something to tell you. This is like breaking up with a boyfriend”.

‘I said, “You’re going to tell me you’re leaving, aren’t you?” and she said, “Yes, it’s been 12 great years but I want to spend time with the family’”‘

Keith continued: ‘I’m gutted, she was like my TV sister. She’s welcome back any time. I’ll properly miss her.’

Metro.co.uk has reached out to Laura and Emily’s reps, as well as ITV who declined to comment.
