Ex On The Beach's Ashley Cain says daughter 'will surprise everyone' and win 'uphill battle' after leukaemia diagnosis

EX On The Beach's Ashley Cain is remaining positive amid his baby daughter's devastating leukaemia diagnosis – insisting that she will "surprise everyone" and win the "uphill battle".

The 30-year-old star welcomed little Azaylia Diamond with girlfriend Safiyya Vorajee in August, and broke the heartbreaking news of her illness on Friday.

But he appeared upbeat in a new video with his little girl from her hospital bed, where he praised the eight-week-old for being "the happiest in the room".

In the clip, Ashley is cooing over Azaylia, asking: "What are you so cheeky for today? You little lion."

He then gives her a kiss as she gazes adoringly up at her dad, with the star stroking her head before addressing his followers.

In the video, Ashley says: "We have accepted what's going on, we know what we need to do to beat it.

"This little soldier is fighting amazingly, it's incredible."

Detailing the form of leukaemia Azaylia has, the reality TV favourite continued: "She's got a very rare and aggressive case of it, and she is very little so she's fighting an uphill battle but I have hope and faith she will surprise everybody.

"We are going to keep fighting and working and are taking this step by step, day by day – as long as keep having these promising results we are going to be okay.

"As long as there's a glimmer of hope, it doesn't matter how much or how little, we will hold on to that and use that to fuel us to the stars and back."

Urging his followers to keep praying, the new dad added: "I wanted everyone to know in times like this you cling onto every bit of faith and all the positive messages and all the prayers, 100% trust me they are helping.

"We are feeling the love so thank you for the positivity; we are fighting, we are strong, and we are going to beat this."

Ashley captioned the moving post: "Somebody woke up very cheeky today and inspired me and the whole ward to smile and be positive!

"Despite her condition, she is the happiest and most energetic person in the room and as much as we’re trying to be there and help her, she’s always the one fueling the flame of hope for us all! 💯❤️

"The amount of love and support we have received is overwhelming and heart filling BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY your prayers and positivity is creating an energy that we’re all fuelling off and using to grind through this tough time SO PLEASE PLEASE KEEP IT GOING!

"You’re all amazing and we really appreciate you! 💯❤️ LETS GO CHAMP 🏆"

Ashley broke the news of Azaylia's diagnosis on Instagram on Friday, sharing a video of himself with his little girl.

He wrote in the post's emotional caption: "Yesterday I had to go through something no parent in the world should have to go through.

"The single most upsetting, terrifying and heartbreaking experience I have ever been through. I found out my beautiful daughter Azaylia Diamond Cain got diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive form of leukaemia, which has come with many complications.

"Everybody who wishes to, please say a prayer for my beautiful brave little girl Azaylia who is currently fighting a battle for her life!

"Mummy and Daddy love you princess ❤️ LETS GO CHAMP 🏆 You CAN and you WILL beat this! ✊🏾"

In the clip, Azaylia is asleep with a blanket over her body and a tube secured to her nose with a teddy bear plaster.

Ashley has been documenting his fatherhood journey on social media since he announced his little girl's birth two months ago.

Last month, Ashley thanked Azaylia for all that she has brought him, writing alongside a series of touching photos: "Having my baby daughter has been the most precious and humbling feeling imaginable.

"A form a responsibility that I can never turn my back on, a priority which I value so much higher than my own and a form of love I didn’t ever think possible!"

Ashley, who shot to fame in the original cast of Ex On The Beach, shares his daughter with long-term girlfriend Safiyya, and the pair tend to keep their relationship out of the limelight.

She previously thanked fans for their support after news of their family's pain broke, as she too vowed that they will all beat the disease together.
