Hollyoaks star Talia Grant has revealed that their biggest achievement of 2020 was coming out as non-binary.
Talia, who plays soap’s first full time autistic character played by an autistic actor, is best known as Brooke Hathaway and they were talking in a new video reflecting on the past year.
They shared: ‘Coming out to people has been probably the biggest achievement, coming out as non-binary, that’s probably been one of the biggest transitions in my life and also the biggest achievement.’
The concept of the videos was to ask the young cast the same questions they had been asked in 2019. Back then, Brooke named celebrating five awards nominations as their biggest achievement.
This year, Niamh Blackshaw, who plays Juliet Nightingale, found herself talking about her hopes for the Covid-19 vaccine – something which she would never have dreamed she would have been saying in 2019.
And Owen Warner, better known as Romeo, shared a similar sentiment to his quotes in 2019 – that his focus for the next year has to be family.
He shared: ‘I said that [last year] not knowing about everything that was going to happen.
‘I’ll say that same answer … I miss my family man, I really miss my family.’
