I’m A Celeb 2020 line-up rumours uncovered as show’s castle location exposed

It was announced today that I'm a Celebrity will be filmed in at the historic Gwrych Castle, Abergele in North Wales.

The 2020 series will be filmed in the UK for first time ever in the UK castle instead of the Australian jungle.

Because of the coronavirus pandemic, border restrictions meant it would be impossible to bring the celebs and their loved ones to Australia, where the series is usually filmed.

Both Ant McPartlin and Declan Donelley, who have presented the show for 20 years, will be returning as hosts for the 2020 series.

But who will be appearing in the show?

The speculation so far includes the usual Coronation Street stars, a Strictly Come Dancing hunk and legendary sports stars.

Here, Daily Star Online takes a look at all the full list of guesses so far.

AJ Pritchard

AJ Pritchard is reportedly in talks to sign on the dotted line for the reality show after he quit Strictly Come Dancing this year.

Reportedly keen to swap the sparkly outfits for the rough and tumble of the jungle, it was be a serious change of pace for AJ.

A source told The Sun: "AJ has a huge fanbase from Strictly, and he's really grateful for the opportunity it afforded him but he is keen to show people that there is a lot more to gim.

"Bosses think he would be a great addition to the cast and it always helps to secure a heartthrob as it draws in much-needed younger viewers."

His brother Curtis enjoyed success on reality show Love Island, too.

Beverley Callard

Coronation Street legend Beverley Callard was reportedly the first celebrity to officially sign up for this year's show.

According to the Mirror, the soap star signed up after leaving her role of Liz McDonald.

She had been due to shoot her final Corrie scenes in July, with her then being open to new projects, though coronavirus has put a stop to filming for now.

Charles Ingram

Charles Ingram returned to the spotlight this year after the story of how he allegedly cheated his way to the top prize on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? was told on ITV drama Quiz.

With his name back in everyone's mouths, bookies Ladbrokes reckon there's a huge chance he'll be in the jungle, with odds of 3/1 to appear.

Spokesman Alex Apati said: "Major Ingram would be an A1 choice for the next series of I'm A Celeb and the odds suggest he could well be heading Down Under."

Eric Cantona

Footballing legend Eric Cantona is said to be high on the list of I'm A Celeb bosses dream line-up.

The former Manchester United star's funny personality is thought to be the main reason.

In fact, show boss Richard Cowles has previously said: "I just like the idea of Eric Cantona talking in French and coming up with really profound things."

He had previously been linked to the 2019 series of I'm A Celeb, but never ended up appearing.

John told Radio Times: "I've done a few shows – I've been on Family Fortunes and The Brightest Family.

"I did Strictly Come Dancing 10 years ago, but Dancing on Ice with my age and the injuries I've had, I don't think so.

"The jungle would be good!"

Lucy Fallon

Soap siren Lucy Fallon has an open calendar now after leaving Coronation Street as Bethany Platt earlier this year.

The young actress was reportedly high on bosses' wish list last year, but turned down the opportunity.

And despite regularly being rumoured for Strictly Come Dancing, it's thought she's set to fly to Australia for the jungle this year.

A source told The Sun : "Lucy is bubbly, funny, down-to-earth and game for a challenge, so she is a great fit for I’m A Celebrity.

"She had conversations last year about taking part but said, 'Thanks, but no thanks.'

"This year, she told them she feels the timing is right."

Matt Baker

The country lad confirmed that he wasn't in talks for I'm A Celeb, but would potentially be quite keen to take part.

He told Hello! magazine: "I haven't had any conversations yet."

But he added: "I am reluctant to say no to anything without having a good think about it."

Richard Madeley

  • James Haskell slammed as he leaves vile comment on Jacqueline Jossa bikini snap

Daytime TV icon Richard Madeley has previously admitted he turned down the chance to appear on I'm A Celeb, but has recently had a change of heart.

And it wasn't the thought of the creepy crawlies and basic rations putting him off, it was the fact he'd be away from home for so long.

He told the Radio Times in 2019: "It's just it's a month – it's a good month out of your life.

"When I did The Circle I was only out of circulation for a total of seven or eight days. Like most people, I'm quite busy and I've got a lot going on.

"So if they ask me next year, I will think about it seriously, but I'd really have to have a look at my diary really and see how it would impact work. I would think carefully about it and if I could make room for it."
