Richard Blackwood of EastEnders fame has made his Hollyoaks debut as Felix Westwood.
The actor made his first appearance on the Channel 4 soap on Friday, and has described his new character as ‘dark’.
As we wait to see how Felix’s storyline develops, here’s a reminder of Richard’s career on the small screen so far…
Who did Richard Blackwood play in EastEnders?
Richard, 47, is best-known for playing Vincent Hubbard on EastEnders from 2015 until 2018.
Vincent found himself at the centre of some of the soap’s major storylines during his time on the show, from his relationship with Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) to his unshakable bond with Ronnie (Samantha Womack).
Even so, Blackwood has ruled out a return to the soap, telling Radio Times: ‘I would say I’ve come to a close with EastEnders. Don’t get me wrong, I had a great time there and they genuinely looked out for me.
‘I’m very loyal – if I had offers while I was there I would say no as EastEnders was my priority. I had a great time and they decided they would stop the character when they did.’
He added: ‘In fairness, I was also at a place where I wasn’t sure how much more we could get out of Vincent; I always believe you should leave a situation before people need you to.’
Outide of Walford, Richard is also a presenter and a rapper, having worked on Singled Out, MTV Select and The Richard Blackwood Show as well as releasing single Mama Who Da Man, which hit number three in the UK singles chart in 2000.
As for other acting roles, he’s appeared in the likes Brass Eye and Ed Stone Is Dead as well as in the 2011 West End production of Shrek The Musical as Donkey, and as Brightie in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof at the Novello Theatre in 2010.
Richard also competed in Dancing on Ice in 2019 and ended up being eliminated in Week 3.
