Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) seemingly took shelter on the streets in Coronation Street tonight (January 13), after Ken Barlow (William Roache) refused to let him stay under his roof as long as he continues drinking.
Peter is intent on making his own decisions regarding his life, and having decided that he’s ‘not worthy’ of having a liver transplant as he believes he’s done this to himself, he’s hellbent on doing as he pleases.
Carla Connor (Alison King) was horrified when set her sights upon him, however, as she discovered that he’d be drinking once more.
Determined to live as he wanted, Peter refused to hide his drinking habit any longer, and therefore withdrew the bottle from his jacket pocket, and downed it in front of Carla.
Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) witnessed the showdown, and realised that if Peter was drinking once more, then he can no longer live in the pub. Therefor,e she kicked him out.
With nowhere else to go, Peter found himself round at No.1, and Carla wasted little time in revealing to Ken that he’d been drinking.
Ken was devastated, but he told Peter that he can stay with him as long as he gives up the drink.
However, Peter refused to do so, and therefore ended up on the streets, where he nursed a bottle of alcohol.
Will Peter realise that his family are desperate to help him? Will he accept help before it’s too late?
Coronation Street continues Friday January 15 at 7:30pm on ITV.
