Stacey Solomon opens up about why she and Joe Swash plan to marry this year

Stacey Solomon has shared how she and fiancé Joe Swash will marry this year because their loved ones "won’t be around forever".

Last month the Loose Women panellist announced Joe had proposed to her and they're walking down the aisle in 2021.

Joe, 38, proposed on a Christmas Eve walk in the woods where he presented her with a gorgeous diamond ring.

And mum-of-three Stacey, 31, has hinted the pair's wedding plans could have been sparked by the devastating loss of Joe’s nan.

When a fan asked her about the nuptials she said: “I used to think I wanted to run away and elope, but after losing family members this year, I could not feel more opposite…

“One of the main reasons we’d love to get married as soon as we can is because there’s special people in our lives that will not be around forever.

“And I would do anything to share our day with them. Especially knowing already how much we will miss those that can’t be there.

“I’ve found me dream venue, we are just trying to see if the dates work and if it’s possible and I can’t wait to take you there with us when/if we are aloud.”

Stacey explained the pair's reason for getting hitched alongside a snap of a wedding chapel.

Former EastEnders actor Joe took Stacey completely by surprise when he got down on one knee.

After Joe's proposal, the former X Factor star took to Insta to share a snap of her holding up the diamond encrusted ring.

She explained: "My hand is still shaking and every time I touch something and look down I remember and cry."

"It's been the weirdest day ever. Thank you so much for all your lovely messages."

Happy Christmas Eve. For anyone wondering, yep I was wearing a Norm jumper, reindeer ears and my slippers.

Joe then added: "She's my fiancé!" and kissed her on the head."

The pair got together in 2015, and moved in together three years later.
