THE Walking Dead is famed for killing off its beloved lead characters in the harsh zombie apocalypse, but an epic comeback could be on the horizon.
Carl Grimes, played by Chandler Riggs, held a prominent role on the show as the son of leader Rick.
His death midway through season 8 left audiences heartbroken and naturally, Rick devastated.
Carl died rescuing Siddiq from a pack of walkers, sustaining a zombie bite that went on to kill him.
However, Riggs has admitted he'd very much be up for returning to the franchise.
He admitted a return to the main franchise could prove difficult, unless it came in the form of flashbacks, but said he was open to appearing in a spin-off show or indeed the upcoming movie trilogy.

Answering a fan's question during an Instagram interview with Tommy DiDario, Riggs said of reprising the role of Carl: "Absolutely. It's been a lot of fun.
"I don't really see it happening in any current medium of the show, but maybe, hopefully, in something else," he added.
Riggs also reflected on Carl's character development on the show, from scared child to a pillar of his community.
He claimed season 4 was a turning point for Carl as he began to understand the brutality of the world, while remaining hopeful for peace.
"I think season 4 showed the biggest growth from Carl from start to end, and it was the first time that I feel like they let Carl blossom into his own character," he went on.
"From the end of season 3 to the start of season 5, all of that in-between, they let Carl grow into his own character, outside of just being 'the kid.'"
