When is Virgin River season 4 out?

On September 20, Netflix announced the romance drama had been renewed for not one, but two more seasons.

This means the escapist series will air until at least season five, much to the delight of fans.

The official Facebook account for Netflix said: “Virgin River fans, huge news: the show has been renewed for Season 4 — AND SEASON FIVE!”

They shared a video montage which said: “Something big is coming. There will be ups, there will be downs.

“There will be more, and more, and more moments with Jack and Mel. Virgin River season four and season five are coming.”

At this moment in time, it is too early to say when season four will be released.

Filming on the fourth outing was believed to have already started ahead of the release of the latest season.

The third instalment aired in July 2021, with seasons one and two airing closer to Christmas.

The release schedule was thrown off as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, so there may be another summer release date.

Fans could see the next season arrive in July 2022, with one saying: “I wish there were more episodes in a season. I can knock 10 episodes out in a day, then I need MORE!”

Who is in the cast of Virgin River season 4?

All of the main characters should be making a comeback in the next season, besides Lilly (Lynda Boyd).

Lilly was the only character to have died in season three, but other people’s fates are left hanging in the balance.

The creators have already indicated Hope McCrea (Annette O’Toole) will return in some capacity.

She was physically absent from season three as the actress was unable to get to British Columbia for filming.

Some new characters were introduced at the end of season three, including Denny (Kai Bradbury), who claimed to be Doc’s (Tim Matheson) grandson.

Is there a trailer for Virgin River season 4?

As news of the series renewal has only just come to light, there is no season four trailer yet.

Trailers are usually released a few weeks ahead of the new season, so fans will have to wait until 2022.

In the meantime, the show’s social media accounts share regular updates regarding filming and what to expect.

Viewers took to Facebook to share their thoughts on the news and there were mixed reviews.

Michelle Mullis said: “I love this show! I can’t wait until season 4” whereas Debra Wonderlin said: “The last season was boring, predictable and more than a little cheesy. I won’t be watching again.”

What will happen in Virgin River season 4?

Viewers were left with a number of questions at the end of season three, including who the father of Mel’s baby is.

Season four should backtrack and explore what happened whilst Mel was in LA, having split from Jack.

The new season will also see Hope on her journey to recovery following a terrible crash that led to her being placed into a coma.

Meanwhile, Brady (Ben Hollingsworth) was seemingly framed for shooting Jack and the real killer is yet to be unveiled.

Doc’s family history is also set to be explored as his grandson drops in to visit.
