The history and politics teacher won the staggering £1million jackpot on the show as he stormed his way through the questions asked by host Jeremy Clarkson.

Despite pocketing the staggering amount of money, Donald revealed to hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield that he decided to go back to work.

Fear did however confirm his plans to permanently retire in December.

He spoke to the presenters from his school as he returned there for the first time since his win.

He revealed he was met with "applause" as he walked through the school gates, his students thrilled for him.

Fans flooded Twitter with messages during the millionaire's first television interview since his win.

One said: "Wins a million. Goes back to work. What a nice chap, fair play to him."

While another remarked: "I would of retired straight away #ThisMorning", adding a laughing emoji to their comment.

"Donald winner of who wants to be a millionaire. What a lovely man; so humble and honest.

"I wish I was taught by Donald, when I was at school", penned a third.

Donald was the first person to win the show during Jeremy Clarkson 's reign on the TV programme.

It was revealed early on in the show that his brother Davyth had been on the show too – and won £500,000.
