JOURNALIST Katherine Creag, who tragically passed away on February 10, was married to William Gafner for 14 years.
Creag, who was 47, had been working for WNBC in New York City since 2011.

William Gafner and Katherine Creag were married on September 2, 2006 at the Roman Catholic Church of St Ignatius Loyola in New York, according to The New York Times.
At the time Gafner developed new products for the New York office of ION Trading, a London-based company, the Times reported.
Creag is also survived by three young children.

WNBC's vice president of news, Amy Morris, paid tribute to the writer in an email to staff: "For ten years Kat was one of our cornerstones, always willing to help in any situation, whether it was a colleague in need or a shift that needed to be covered.
"She was thoughtful, funny and relentless. And even on the toughest days she was a bright light, quick with a kind word and a smile."
She graduated from New York University in 1996 and spent five years at Fox News before joining NBC.
"What a loss! Katherine Creag beamed with light every day," Syracuse on-air journalist Matt Mulcahy tweeted.
"I can picture her greeting to my wife and I 'Hello Mulcahys!!' So sweet. Award winning in every way."
