Britain’s Got Talent 2020: Why isn’t Britain’s Got Talent on tonight?

The audition stages of Britain’s Got Talent 2020 wrapped up last weekend (Saturday, May 30) on ITV. So, why isn’t Britain’s Got Talent on tonight as originally planned? Express.co.uk has everything you need to know.

Why isn’t Britain’s Got Talent?

For the first time in 14 years, Britain’s Got Talent live final will not go ahead as planned.

Usually, after eight weeks of audition stages, the Britain’s Got Talent live semi-finals are head in front of a live studio audience.

The finalists perform live on stage and the audience at home vote for the act they want to see in the final, which is held at the end of six live semi-final shows.

The act that received the highest amount of votes from the public is sent straight through to Sunday’s live final.

The judges – Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon – will then have to decide between the next two acts who received the highest number of votes, sending only one through to the final.

Britain’s Got Talent fans would have noticed that the live semi-finals did not go ahead this week and as a result, there is no semi-final tonight (Saturday, June 6) or final tomorrow (Sunday, June 7).

The reason Britain’s Got Talent is not on this week is because the live shows were postponed as a result of the current coronavirus pandemic.

ITV announced in April that the live show’s had been postponed in a statement which read: “We have been working with the brilliant production teams at Thames and Syco to find a way of making the live finals work, which were due to be broadcast at the end of May.

“However, in light of the latest government health guidelines and in line with our priority of safeguarding the well-being of everyone involved in our programmes, production of the live shows cannot go ahead as planned.”

When will Britain’s Got Talent 2020 return?

Unfortunately, a return date for Britain’s Got Talent 2020 has not been confirmed by ITV.

However, there is some good news for fans of the long-running talent series.

Judge Amanda Holden revealed that the judges had been given a provisional return date of Autumn 2020.

Speaking to HuffPost UK, Amanda said: “ “All of the judges have been given a date to hold in early autumn to see if it works live.

“We would never do it without an audience because we’ve always said the British public is the fifth judge. It would be no fun without them!”

“We’ll see what happens, but we are planning to do it this year.”

She added: “Simon has fought very hard for it to be on now, in its normal slot, and it celebrates Britain at its best.

“All our eccentricities, our nuttiness, and being able to laugh at ourselves is how we get through everything – we’ve got to still find the light in the dark.”

Who is through to Britain’s Got Talent 2020 live shows?

The full line up of Britain’s Got Talent 2020 finalists have not been revealed by ITV.

Only the five golden buzzer acts have been confirmed for the live shows.

Stacey Solomon opens up about Joe Swash’s struggles: ‘Could sense something wasn’t right’

While Loose Women presenter Stacey Solomon, 30, and Dancing On Ice winner Joe Swash reportedly first started dating in 2016, the ITV favourite has reflected on the time they first met, and how she thought he was a “closed book”. Stacey and Joe welcomed their first child, Rex, together last year.

He is a closed book.

Stacey Solomon

During an interview on Loose Women on Friday, Joe discussed how before he knew Stacey, he used to “hold a lot in” when it came to talking about his mental health.

The former EastEnders star divulged: “I’m not really the best person because I don’t talk a lot myself, I hold a lot in.

“I could take a leaf out of that book and try and open up a little bit,” he continued.

“I think it’s difficult sometimes for certain people.”

Joe went on to discuss how he now feels he can talk to Stacey and their “tight-knit” family about anything.

The actor shared: “I’m so lucky, I’ve got Stacey, I’ve got a tight-knit family.

“I know if I need to talk about anything, they’re all there for me and I think, for me, that’s the most important thing.”

Joe added: “But yeah, I think I need to work on that on myself – be a little bit more open and talk openly. Stacey will tell you the same as well.”

Stacey, who reportedly met Joe the year she won I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here replied: “You have got better since I met you.

“Definitely at the start of the relationship, I remember thinking, ‘He is a closed book’, even though I could sense something wasn’t right, I just never knew what it was.”

While the pair were speaking out, Loose Women Nadia Sawalha then asked Stacey how she has helped Joe open up more.

In response to Nadia’s question, the X Factor star explained: “I don’t think I did anything to help… you grow and we’ve got four boys, they’re getting older and they need someone to talk to.

Joe also stated how having kids has meant he has had to be a lot more open with his feelings and admitted it has been “really healthy” for his wellbeing as a result.

This comes after Stacey and Joe, who live together with their one-year-old son Rex and Stacey’s sons Zachary, 12 and Leighton, eight, had to leave their home to be “corona safe” ahead of filming their appearance for Channel 4’s Celebrity Gogglebox.

Last week, the singer shared her morning routine on her Instagram story but revealed they had to “get out of the house”.

Stacey wrote on Sunday: “Sunday morning montage is a bit different today.

“Got to get ready before the person sets up for Gogglebox and we have to be out of the house so they can be corona safe, so there’s a lot of my boat race in this one, sorry.”

The pair will appear on the celebrity version alongside the likes of Radio 1’s Nick Grimshaw, Harry Redknapp and his wife Sandra, and Love Island favourites Laura Whitmore and Iain Stirling.

Celebrity Gogglebox returns on Friday on Channel 4 at 9pm.

Coronation Street spoilers: Yasmeen Nazir takes down Geoff Metcalfe after Alya bombshell

We will use your email address only for sending you newsletters. Please see our Privacy Notice for details of your data protection rights.

Coronation Street’s Yasmeen Nazir (played by Shelley King) is currently behind bars awaiting trial for her attack on manipulative husband Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew). While the Speed Daal chef keeps her silence, Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) has been determined to prove her grandmother’s innocence and may have finally got through to her after dropping a devastating revelation about her abusive husband.

Geoff had been emotionally tormenting Yasmeen for months before the Speed Daal chef finally snapped when her husband threatened to kill her.

Up until the attack, Alya was the only one who realised what Geoff was capable of but she’s on a mission to convince Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) of Yasmeen’s innocence.

In tonight’s instalment, Sally was horrified when Geoff admitted to using escorts before apologising to Alya for not keeping this information to herself.

Alya discussed her grandmother’s case with Imran Habeeb (Charlie de Melo) and realised she had to use her prison visit to convince Yasmeen to plead not guilty.

“Will you keep your voice down,” Yasmeen pleaded while Alya let her outrage get the better of her.

“And you’re still going to let him win?” Alya asked and Yasmeen said: “I will not mention those women in court. I’m sorry Ayla but there’s a line and I won’t cross it.”

“What line? What are you talking about?” Alya asked. “It’s his reputation you’ll be dragging through the mud, not yours.

“It doesn’t feel that way, so what’s it going to take to make you realise. It’s him that needs to be in here not you.”

“This is a women’s prison,” the Speed Daal chef joked but Alya wasn’t impressed.

“Is that a joke?” she asked and Yasmeen replied: “An attempt at one yes.”

“Neither can I but I would rather be in here than have that come out in court,” Yasmeen explained.

“Gran you cannot sacrifice your freedom over this, look of course it’s going to be difficult and shameful but it wasn’t your fault he drove you to this,” Alya said.

“You can’t spend 15 years in here just because you don’t want a room full of strangers to find out your husband gave you chlamydia.

Yasmeen has kept her silence up until this point as she feels ashamed about her marriage but she may want to stop any other woman falling victim to Geoff.

Has Alya finally got through to her grandmother or will Yasmeen plead guilty and let Geoff get away with the abuse?

Rick and Morty season 5 release date: When does Rick and Morty season 5 start?

We will use your email address only for sending you newsletters. Please see our Privacy Notice for details of your data protection rights.

Rick and Morty released the final episode of season four on Sunday, May 31, on Adult Swim and then a few days later on Channel 4’s E4 in the UK. While fans were excited for the finale to be aired, this means there are no new episodes being shown every week. So the next question on everyone’s minds is when will season five start?

WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Rick and Morty season 4.

Rick and Morty always leaves fans asking plenty of questions after most of its episodes.

One which has been puzzling viewers since season three has been over whether or not Beth is a clone.

In season three’s The ABC’s of Beth, Rick gave his daughter the option to clone herself so she could go off and have adventures in space while the clone took care of the family back home.

Her decision was left unknown until the season four finale where things were made a bit clearer about what happened.

Beth does, in fact, have a clone so there is now a Space Beth who leads a rebellious gang somewhere in the multiverse.

However, Rick told both of the Beths she was the real one and this is because he wasn’t sure which of them was his real daughter.

He made himself forget what happened but when he retrieved the memory to find out the truth for himself, he was shocked.

Rick had swapped the identities of Beth and her clone so he would never find out who his real daughter was.

The finale ended with Rick coming to the realisation that he is actually a bad father.

When does Rick and Morty season 5 start?

Fans had to wait two years between seasons three and four so many are now eager to find out if the gap will be just as long for season five.

So far, a release date for series five of Rick and Morty has not been revealed.

Express.co.uk will update this article when there is more information on the release date.

Despite there not being a set date just yet, the creators of the show have stated the wait will not be as long as last time.

In 2018, Rick and Morty was given the green light to create 70 more episodes by Adult Swim.

After the end of season four, this means there are still another 60 new episodes of Rick and Morty to come.

This is good news as this means there will at least be 10 series in total of the sci-fi comedy if the creators stick to the 10-episode per season format that they have done so far.

Co-creator Justin Roiland has also spoken out about how the large renewal means the upcoming season will be quicker to be released.

Speaking to Polygon, Roiland said: “We want the episodes to stay good, but we do also want to try to turn them around a little quicker now that we have this big order, I think it gives us the ability to be faster.

“We’re not going to do these long breaks, these chasms in-between seasons anymore.

“We’re going to schedule vacation time and just keep the machine going.

“It’s going to be really cool.”

Rick and Morty is available to watch on Adult Swim.

Will there be another series of Queen of the South?

WARNING: This article contains spoilers for Queen of the South season 4.

Season four of Queen of the South was released on Netflix last week for fans in the UK to watch the latest episodes of the crime drama.

The new outing followed Teresa Mendoza (played by Alice Braga) as she headed to New Orleans to strengthen her cartel.

The season culminated in a dramatic finale episode, which saw Javier Jimenez (Alfonso Herrera) killed by Judge Lafayette (David Andrews).

Then in a dramatic cliffhanger, James (Peter Gadiot) returned after turning up at a warehouse with a severe abdomen wound.

When he was embraced by his ex-girlfriend Teresa, he warned “they were coming” before the series ended.

The finale left many fans desperate to know whether the series would be returning with another outing soon.

There’s good news for viewers of the show as Queen of the South has been renewed for a fifth season.

The announcement came from the USA Network back in August 2019 after it aired originally on the channel.

When will Queen of the South season 5 be released?

So far, every season of the show has been released in June in the US before landing on Netflix months later.

However, the latest series is set to be delayed after filming was shut down back in March.

This was because the outbreak of coronavirus COVID-19 shut down production on the show.

Therefore, it is unclear when the series will be returning to screens as filming has not yet resumed.

In the short clip Teresa is heard being warned about the Russians and the threat they will pose.

She also says: “If I do this now where will it end. You don’t know what I’m capable of.”

EastEnders spoilers: Stuart Highway’s mum arrives with bombshell at Rainie’s wedding?

We will use your email address only for sending you newsletters. Please see our Privacy Notice for details of your data protection rights.

EastEnders happy-go-lucky character, Stuart Highway (played by Ricky Champ), has had a long road to happiness after initially being introduced to the BBC soap at war with Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) back in 2019. The funeral director is set to wed Rainie Cross (Tanya Franks) in the coming months but could their day be rocked if his mum turns up and causes disruption to proceedings?

Stuart finally got his girlfriend Rainie to say yes after months of difficulty between the two.

Last year, Rainie hit rock bottom and ended up getting herself purposefully arrested after realising she needed to fix things.

Rainie arrived back in the Square with the past behind her and her relationship with Stuart is now at its best.

With Stuart knowing he wanted Rainie in his life forever, he decided to put a plan into action to make her his fiancée.

She finally accepted his bizarre proposal, in which he dressed up as a vampire and was bowled over by his efforts.

Rainie quickly agreed to be his wife but there was another problem on the horizon to be addressed first – her divorce from Max Branning (Jake Wood).

However, there is still much to be explored about Stuart and his younger brother, Callum’s (Tony Clay) past and now, fans believe the upcoming Highway wedding could be the perfect opportunity.

Some viewers are eager to see Stuart’s past discussed and have spoken out on Twitter about the possibility of his mum making an entrance.

One fan wrote: “I’d love to see a Callum & Stuart episode, where they talk about their childhood. It could also open up an opportunity for an appearance by their mum later on.”

Another said: “I’d love it if they explored that part of the Highway story. Not been watching since Callum first came into the show (I started watching again for the #Ballum storyline – I like a good ship!), so I don’t know what, if anything, has been said about her. I didn’t even see Zara.

“Same! I stopped watching for years and started watching again when Ben returned so I’d love to know their backstory, I know about Jonno but that’s it,” commented a third.

Another added: “I’m praying Callum’s mum comes to Walford for Stuart’s wedding #ballum #EastEnders.”

Viewers will remember Stuart’s daughter Zara (Faye Deveney) was briefly brought into the Square back in 2018.

She didn’t have a good relationship with her father after he walked out on her as a child and she later fled Walford after their reconciliations didn’t go to plan.

However, could there be another bombshell thrown Stuart’s way as he prepares for his wedding?

Fans have never met Stuart and Callum’s mum and she has never really been mentioned on-screen, so this could be a way for her to be introduced into the show.

  • EastEnders spoilers: Max Branning ‘frames’ Martin Fowler in drug plot

Late last year, the pair’s dad Jonno (Richard Graham) was introduced on-screen and failed to accept Callum’s sexuality after he admitted he was gay.

This led to an explosive showdown between Jonno and Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) with the latter warning him to leave Callum alone.

However, with the soap choosing to introduce the pair’s dad, could Stuart’s wedding finally be the chance for viewers to see his mum for the first time?

It’s possible the unnamed character could choose the day to make amends with her son but if she does turn up, will it lead to Stuart’s big day being ruined?

EastEnders airs Mondays at 8pm and Tuesdays at 7:30pm on BBC One.

The final round of Britain’s Got Talent auditions came to an end this evening with Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams all being blown away by the last hopeful to take to the stage – Belinda Davids. She explained she wanted to further her career and felt the ITV talent show would help her do so.

TV fans may remember Belinda from another talent show which she went on to win.

As the 43-year-old from South Africa took to the stage she failed to mention she already had a career as a singer.

She told the judges: “I’m a singer and I do Whitney Houston songs.”

As she performed One Moment in Time, viewers can see the judges are shocked by her incredible vocals and talent.

Alexander Armstrong admits confusion at Pointless change: ‘For reasons I can’t understand’

Alexander Armstrong and Richard Osman have opened up about BBC quiz Pointless, now in its 11th year. The duo have addressed whether the programme has gain a new audience in lockdown.

I don’t know – but we’re not getting the daily feedback

Alexander Armstrong

The former, 50, claimed the reaction when he is out and about has changed, but said it might be due to his face mask.

He said they weren’t “getting the daily feedback” they had previously, in a new interview with Radio Times.

When asked with the country quizzing, had they seen viewing figures shoot up for the daily 5pm offering.

Richard, 49, started: “It’s a good question, because daytime TV has very healthy audiences, but now everyone’s watching.

“Pointless is definitely getting a new audience, although we’re up against Boris Johnson or Matt Hancock sometimes.”

He continued: “If we’re up against Matt Hancock our ratings shoot up, but when it’s Rishi Sunak we’re in trouble. He’s very much the Bradley Walsh of the Cabinet.”

Alexander admitted: “It’s hard to be sure if these are new people coming to Pointless – I’m absolutely certain that’s true, but when you go out on the street, you’re not being stopped by quite so many people for selfies, for reasons I can’t understand.

“Maybe it’s the face mask, I don’t know – but we’re not getting the daily feedback.”

They went on discuss whether they thought the British TV quizzing scene was in a good place, with Richard saying there are “two kinds of people” who appear on TV quizzes.

He stated: “Those who see it as an experience like climbing Kilimanjaro, and the professionals.

“The guy who won Mastermind this year is a Fifteen to One champion. And why not? Some people are brilliant at general knowledge, so they enter those competitions.”

He then added: “You tend not to see them on Pointless or The Chase so much – more University Challenge and Mastermind.”
